  • Korach - ‘Korah’
    Numbers 16:1-18:32
A group of 250 Levites, lead by Korach, Dathan and Abiram, confront Moses and Aaron to challenge the claim to their roles. They argue that they are all holy people and thus worthy to serve in the Tabernacle, and that Moses’ position as leader and Aaron’s position of high priest were in fact self-appointed rather than given by God. Moses gives them orders to fill their censers with incense and return to tabernacle the next day so that God Himself can show them whom he has ordained into these roles, but warns them against it, as no unworthy people may stand before the presence of God, at the risk of death.
The next day, the group return with their censers to prove that they are worthy of tabernacle service but are, unsurprisingly, destroyed by the presence of God at their offering of ‘strange fire’. The earth opens up, swallowing their tents, their property and those who associated with them, while at the same time holy fire consumes the rebellious men at the tabernacle. As a consequence of this rebellion, a plague breaks out, killing many thousands of people, but is halted through Aaron’s offering of incense: the high priest standing between the living and the dead.
It is then decreed that the heads of each of the twelve tribes, including Aaron, will bring their staffs forward to present before God, to define once and for all, who is truly appointed by God. When the staffs are brought from the Tabernacle the next day, it is Aaron’s staff that has blossomed with almonds, proving his position as God’s anointed high priest.
Finally, God reaffirms that the offerings from each crop, the firstborn of the herds of livestock and the tithes must be given to the Levites, as they have no inheritance of land or goods for themselves; their service to the tabernacle and the provision that God gives them through the offerings of the people are to be their inheritance.

    Praise Yah!
    Beautiful brother Joe🙂.
Father, forgive us for the times we have rebelled, that we would less and less, walking in Your righteousness.
May we be grateful that we were picked first/earlier in the day and walk out our salvation in fear and trembling, honouring the leaders You have raised up and may we bring forth the fruit you desire us to bring🔥.

Thank you brother, you nailed it: the Father is letting all the evil in the world happen so that we can experience cause and effect of all actions outside of His perfect Law. May all who are outside of His Covenant repent and give their lives to our Saviour🙏

Praise Yah, nice teaching! My husband and I are new to Torah, we left mainstream church. We are being persecuted by family and friends. We both know it will be worth it in the end.

Oh my goodness this message hit me hard! I have totally been focusing on people coming against me when I should have been focusing on the fact that YAH was and is blessing me through the persecution I've faced by keeping the Spirit and the Truth. Thank you for that reminder I really needed it and of course all glory and honor to the Most High YHWH 🙌 I need to remember this I'm going to memorize that verse. Shabbat shalom and may YAH bless you and keep you and yours!

Aye brother! I love it 💖. I'm getting a tan!
I empathize with you by the way, I've had the dish soap in the mouth and red cayenne pepper, definitely it's a remembrance I will never forget! This has been a good meal! Delightful!

I loved your teaching today, thank you Joe! 2 things are coming to mind, first from today's part 1, strange fire with Aaron's 2 sons, God's fire consumed them. And today God's fire consumed them bringing (strange fire?) And Eleazar, Aaron's other son, had to get the censors out of the ashes and beat them for the mercy seat covering. That would have been very close (familiar because of his brothers) to him, right? And is this a shadow of the lake of fire, for those in rebellion to God, His lake of fire will consume them?
And then from part 2 with korahs rebellion, when you taught on the workers in the vineyard and their pay being a denarius and how Yeshua is our payment our denarius, I kept thinking about:
    (Revelation 6:6
And I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine!”)
    Is there a connection here?
Thank you for being a wonderful servant to us, your brothers and sisters, you're teachings help us see clearer and help us to think! I love this fellowship and pray blessings over you all🙏❤️✌️ Angela
