The entire album is R&B/Soul. The harmonies, their tones, vocal flex, it's a baby making album. They are delivering the R&B sound of the 90's with no apologies. You can tell they put their all in this project and it shows, unbelievable unit. Great reaction, they left us triggered.
Jaehyun is a menace to society! He need to keep his fine ass face and his fine ass body to himself! His vocal is also spectacular and his dance moves are just so clean and smooth as hell…in conclusion he is perfect!
I really like it when idols grow up and mature into new smoother sounds. Don't get me wrong, I love their debut music too. It's just that they become more polished and seasoned with a few years under their belt. Whomever came up with the idea of subunits was a genius.
And this has become such a tradition in SM (having a vocal focused trio subunit from their larger groups: KRY from SuJu, TTS from Girls Generation, CBX from EXO and now DJJ!) and their seniors like Changmin and Taeyeon and Seulgi etc attended their debut press conference. I know Doyoung told us he was feeling nervous about this debut because of the expectation and tradition etc but seriously, the whole album just shines and is so perfectly suited to them. They all sound amazing and the whole album is so cohesive and flows so beautifully. I love the little detail where they call their perfume "company" Proust House as Proust is famous for writing about how smell/taste can flood us with memories. And so they want to create a perfume that will bring their memories to mind whenever the other is away, so their presence is always with them wherever they go. Such a great image for the lyrics. (I'm an avid perfume collector and it certainly brings back memory with great power.)
Perfume is SOTY for me and there's been a ton of 13/10 comebacks and debuts this year. They're honestly wilding. Like I didn't watch any teasers so I expected a vocal heavy song and the intro made me think it was gonna be a ballad or smth. When the bass hit my soul just about left my body.
I'm absolutely blown away by the production and vocal delivery of "Perfume", especially Doyoung. I might be reaching but his vocal delivery hear is absolutely one of the best vocal deliveries I've heard in any K-pop song, he literally embodied the song's atmosphere completely to the point that it not only becomes part of the song, his voice becomes a CORE aspect of its whole sound. Easy 10/10, its amazing.

I haven't been a huge fan of NCT in general, any of the units/versions, I've liked songs and specific comebacks ect but never got into any of the groups as a whole properly but this unit right here? Completely hooked. This is the best NCT have NCT'd for me!
