I know its horrible and they are just greedy but they haven't broken any laws they are just morally bankrupt. Don’t understand why anyone would give to a ‘charity’ for that charity to then give to a chosen charity on your behalf, but take all the credit. Give directly to a charity of your own choosing. Also, as Archwell is registered in Delaware, they only have to use 5% of your donation to any given charity.

None of them are allowed to deal with the financial aspect. It has to be dealt with by a separate committee and then over seen by the charity commission. To avoid speculation of miss appropriation of funds

If in the donations they received, 95% will go to their admin cost (for M clothing, hotels, backgrid pap fees, etc) and only 5% to actual charity projects, it makes sense they cannot attract donors.

This is probably why Oxfam disappeared from the mainstream charity world from what I’ve seen… it came out their executives and management were on millions/hundreds of thousands pay yet the causes got next to nothing ie something in the region of 5%. Utterly disgraceful and proved to be their fall from grace. Hopefully the giving world community will do the same with Archwell if they are fleecing it in the same manner
The other thing to note is most of those events were not of their making. They just jumped in on other people's hard work at the last second to take pictures.

Archewell is registered in Delaware and is required to give 5% of donations to charity. The remaining 95% can be spent on "operating costs". So, basically, most monies going to Archewell wind up in Markle's pocket. Pretty cushy arrangement.

@decodolly1535 There are a number of states with similar regulations. Not sure why the CA couple's charity is registered in DE. There are probably some other advantages as well in that state. I'm sure their attorneys figured it all out to THEIR best benefit. The "charities" it "benefits" are pretty much window dressing.
Let’s back this up. What good work does this charity do? Go back and look how many times they have “partnered” with charities. They throw in a pittance and claim to be about them. Look at the person hygiene products donated to Meghan’s native country, Nigeria. They “partnered” but took credit. The technology award, they “partnered” and took credit. There isn’t anything they “partner” that they don’t take credit for. They intentionally set up this charity in a state that doesn’t require a lot of accountability. If you are calling Harry’s ginger jokes and Meghan’s microphone grab as good works, then we have a difference of opinion. Even at the Vancouver hockey game, Harry took the puck away from an autistic boy so he could get credit and a photo op for supporting this charity.

No, they could spend more if they wanted to, it's that they have to spend AT MINIMUM 3% on charities, the rest can go to overhead, expenses and invested to grow - but in almost all cases these foundations in Delaware are to park your own money to avoid taxes.

Yes, my dear. 95% may be written off as "operating expenses" which would include salaries, transportation&housing&meal costs while attending events connected with charity. Did you notice how the recent NYC jaunt to a conference on wellness was "in conjunction with Archewell Foundation"? There is usually a link to the charities. If you do go via this link Archewell will get a portion of that donation. Otherwise people donate direct to Archewell for them to distribute as they see fit taking 95% of the donation.

Royal duties were boring nor lucrative and they had their own idea of how they could have a better life. Well here they are. Is this their better life? It could easily have been themselves who donated in order to hush the concern the fall in monies would have caused. It's easy to tell the accountant or the bank that the donor wishes to remain anonymous. Or we could speculate for evermore but I daresay the investigation/interrogation will have an answer.

H&M can't work out a different approach other than being "fast followers" because they don't really have any good ideas. While Catherine is genuine and sincere, Maghen is plastic in her words, smiles and hugs, it's like she is always posing for the camera saying look at me, look at me, see what I've done.......... From what I've seen, when Catherine is before the cameras it's more of..........look at this charity, see what they do for others, you could even imagine yourself pitching in and helping at a baby bank......... I never feel or think that Catherine is bringing attention to herself for a "glory run". But in the end because Catherine is so genuinely concerned for others (not herself) Catherine always rides out victoriously in front. There is a reason the royal family are "front-runners". And there's M lagging behind....running right after the RF, trying to catch up........but never quite making the mark...........more like missing the mark!
