Yes that was the plan with the i-beam, a multi use attachment. Thats a great idea with the camera i want to put a few more LED flood lamps all around the cab to see at night. Fall evenings then to get dark quick and always find my self needing more light especially on the back side of the machine
i plan to buy a mini-ex soon, and this looks like the perfect toolset! the thumb ripper was a new idea for me, but very helpful, as i will have a ton of stumps to dig. i just finished a welding course, so will probably attempt to fabricate my own
Yes the ultimate tool box LOL . The ripper gets used alot and saves wear and tear on the digging bucket. Which i find can get very beat up diggin up big stumps and stone. My bucket has a fracture in it in the middle from thumb pressure over the years. Very hard pack around here with 50% stone haha. Going to have prep and weld that up soon. It awesome having attachment choices tho
I have a similar machine but it's a kx161-3 super series. Are you able to change this machine to a one way flow for a brush cutter so you can use the trigger? Can you make a how to video on that?
I was wondering if you ever tried splitting wood with the ripper and thumb? I just recently attached a old log splitter on the aux circuit and works great, a little slow but works good for the 4 foot rounds, but then I was just wondering if you could do the same with a ripper. Anyway, like forks that’s a good idea
I think adding more lights (in whatever form or configuration) is a good idea and would make for a great video. You talked about the weight of those cages of firewood while using the forklift attachment, so I'm asking, are you able to add to the counterweights on the cab?
Shoulda just used 2x4's for the forks instead! I hear 2x4s can actually hold up a frame of a commercial box truck? Lumber probably would have been sturdier for ya! I'll get Louie to set ya straight
Not really an attachment, but what's your take on the angle blade? If you were buying new, would you consider it worth the expense (~$3K)as well as the increased maintenance and potential weak point? I imagine it comes down to how often a person is going to utilize it, but I'd be interested in your take.
well my machine has a 4way blade the 6 way blade would be nice to have have for sure. But im guessing its not as durable because of the added articulation. One feature my 4way does not have is float mode which i think the 6way does have. And i would get it just for that reason after knowing what i know now for use when back dragging and grading surfaces. It will be much easy for that task vs constantly metering the blade height as you travel.
I used to only have a stationary blade, and I finally rented one with the angle blade. Honestly I can't go back, they are well worth the extra money, but I use mine all the time. It makes backfilling a trench way easy.

Great video that beam alone can be used for grading. I put an inexpensive backup camera in mine was only about 35 buck and has night vision

No added counterweight. But i do notice when i have the blade behind me it does very well stabilizing with a heavy firewood bin. Thanks for watching!

John.. for hydraulic tumb.. with one better welded on or pin on? i use quick coupler for my Kubota U50
