I met Col. Sanders a couple of times when he came into our business. We sold KFC their restaurant equipment. One of his right hand men that helped develop KFC as a big chain in the 60s was David Thomas who went on to open his own chain Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers.
Cool tour of the area!!! Enjoyed seeing the history! When I was probably 12 - my Dad had Col. Sanders come to our church and university in Chattanooga -- I think it was a building fund raiser meeting and banquet for about 2,000. I got to eat with him that night! Such a southern gentleman!!! We actually had his chicken and the chef of the university made her famous fried chicken -- and he said how much he really liked her chicken!!!! Good memories. Will & Dawn, so enjoy when you go into history of places and people -- we tend to forget this history makes the fabric of our great country!
Enjoyed seeing you guys in our home town! We hope you enjoyed your time and will come back when KFCis finished (they also bought his old house which is behind the restaurant) and when our train museum opens!
I am visiting here in a week!! Thanks for the update. Bummer that there will be construction going on when I visit, but that is how things get completed, right? However, I was unaware of the park, and I will make certain to visit it when I am in town. Greetings from Washington state!! :)
Thanks for taking us along on the tour pretty cool that the remodeling but they do have the best chicken I was told that it taste better there than other restaurants hope you are doing well
If, Colonel Sanders had been alive during the Colonial period, the song Yankee Doodle may have had a much different ending to it and the words would have been much different. It might have went something like this: "Colonial Sanders came to town, for to buy a firelock, on a slapping chicken, stuck a feather in his hat and called it Macaroni. He then went down to camp, along with Captain Gooding and there he saw the roosters as thick as hasty pudding. Colonel Sanders , mind the hens and the step and with the hens be dandy.-haah,haahh....Very, very good chicken it is, I always enjoy going to KFC, for dinner.
Will, The Spork was manufactured in Clinton, Massachusetts. At a company named Van Brode Company. Not sure if they invented it. Someone bought them out. So, I'm not sure where they make them, now.
I needed cheering up, and knew your video would do the trick. Thanks for cheering me up, Now I want me some KFC especially I want to try the colonial recipe. 🐔 💜
The 1874 patent drawing for what we call the spork. Samuel W. Francis was an esteemed member of the upper crust, but he was also the type of eccentric who looked at a spoon and fork and thought, "This is one too many utensils."
The potatoes and gravy taste WAAAAAYYYY better as a kid. From what I remember. All of the fast food places were better when I was a kid. In my opinion. I cant hardly eat a McDonald's burger now.
Good evening Will and Dawn 🌄 awesome video , I love Kentucky fried chicken I think most everybody does 😄 God bless youns and have a wonderful evening. Happy Halloween 🎃
That was a great video. We've stopped by there at the KFC and museum cuz my daughter is fascinated with KFC. I wasn't aware of the trains or the square. Thanks for sharing and Dawn is hilarious.
We had KFC just before I watched this. We went through the drive thru. I got the 1 piece extra crispy fill up meal for $5. It came with one side, a biscuit and a medium drink. I got the cole slaw for my side. I have always enjoyed KFC's cole slaw. They also add in a chocolate chip cookie. That's a great deal for $5. My husband got the chicken pot pie fill up meal for $5. It came with a drink and a chocolate chip cookie. Those meals are quite a bargain! Y'all didn't mention getting a cookie. Your meals probably weren't the fill up meals since you both added a chicken wing. The chicken wing doesn't look like it is worth the added cost. Corbin looks like a really nice town.
Hey Will an Dawn dont know if you knew this but did you know Sanders started at a gas station an not there plus Corbin did not like The Colonel that's why Louisville Ky adopted him
Owen my 9yr old that has autism loves you guys and watches you both faithfully and we are from Corbin. He suddenly developed a infatuation with kfc now I see why lol. Love watching you guys. Colonel Sanders actually still has some family here in Corbin. Wish we had known you guys were coming Owen would love to meet you guys.
Hey Will and Dawn! The KFC in my town in Colorado sadly shut its doors for good after being there since the 70s.I think there was a difference when KFC was actually Kentucky Fried Chicken.Back when Pepsi Cola owned Kentucky Fried Chicken I thought the chicken and there side products tasted far better and more items on there menu.
Hope you guys made it to Cumberland Falls while you were in the area. Should be able to see a moonbow tonight (Halloween). Since there will be a full moon. Also. KFC coleslaw is awesome. My mom buys it and passes it off as her own at every family gathering 🤣
Will... Do you and Dawn ever take off? You're constantly working! Will, no matter how well you do in your videos, Dawn always steals the show! 🥰 Gotta' love Dawn.💗
Hi Will and Dawn I enjoyed your video but would you please pray for my Pomeranian Digger...he's not holding his food down and I'm so upset..I can't get him to get until Monday because I can't afford the emergency fees..thank you and your viewers very much God Bless ❤
@@yankeeinthesouth Thank you Will and Dawn he's better today..I found a. RUclips channel Veterinarian Secrets and he said to fast 24 hours and feed white rice only for a few days ..that was helpful but I give all glory to my Father Jesus. Love u 2 God Bless ❤

Y'all have a Blessed one, how is social distancing in GBurg?

I love their chicken. I was bummed when they did away with the grilled chicken. It was so yummy.
You forgot to go to his home.It was the white house under construction next to his restaurant.
Was there not even a week ago and the museum was closed :(
I wonder why the meals don't come with chips?
I'm not sure
@@yankeeinthesouth Interesting, as all the countries I've visited have fries with their meals and in the US you get a biscuit

Good to see them finally doing a proper remodel of this iconic spot, they're also remodeling the colonels house right around the corner I think.
Nice little park commemorating Col Sanders. Too bad the original cafe was closed for dine in. Thanks for the video!!
Hey do you have anymore of those stickers of y’all in jeep with honey bear
Hate to be a chicken around dawn
Lol
You all need to checkout Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville, KY. Talk about some country cooking.
I second this. You haven't seen anything until you've seen that all you can eat meat and vegetables. Their homemade yeast rolls are so good.
I absolutely love watching your videos! Thanks for taking us to new places. ❤️
🍗
Great review. Looking forward visiting there soon.
Great daytrip 💕
Kudos 😊 to you guys for finishing the blog. You know what they say when life hands you lemons 🍋make lemonade.🍋
That area of I75 didn't open until after 1965. You use to get on/off Corbin up to/ or from Berea as that section took a long time to complete.
My Dad and I have been there in Corbin. Corbin was our stay over when we were traveling from Michigan to North Carolina to visit my sister.
Disappointed No Halloween themed Videos..

I was born on his birthday and I live in Corbin to. I like painting across street
They also have original cash register. Not in use now. I remember when they used to use it as a child in 60s and 70s inside
