I need to drill and tap holes in the end of these long ass parts but the Bridgeport isn’t tall enough . I strap a vice to the edge and can hold the part in it but it bottoms out on the floor and not enough clearance between the drill and tapping head and the part. Any ideas? We have some 3 axis machines as well but none of them can drill and tap at 90 degrees to get the side of the part
These videos were filmed during lockdown on a mobile phone. They were to try and show our students the practical side of mechanical engineering, whilst keeping our 3 metre distance. We didn't really have access to recording equipment. Thanks for the feedback though😀
Great video. That machine guard would drive me crazy. Us hobby users are lucky we don't need to bother with them!

I tap under power with my bridgeport. Slowest speed of course. The tap will slip in the chuck quite soon then finish by hand.
great to see you doing this..But you need to wear a mic!!! on your body. It was hard to follow your wording...needs more volume..😄
