I bought the 1992, 1993 CroMo Stumpy's. Then the M2 Team Red 1994, the grape blue 1995 and the 1996 Navy Blue. Then I needed to go to some rehab due to my (n+1)-bike addiction. :D))))) Still have the 94 and 95 models today.
that frame is in awesome shape....I have a 98 mango Yellow M2 Stumpy....I need to replace the brakes and perhaps upgrading the shocks from the Magnum Manitou's that are on their now...
@@tatlongbikekalang1390 How do you release old pedals that were on the crank arm for 25 years?! Mine seemed like welded on due to contact corrosion. :(
I once had the very same Stumpjumper. The '96 Navy Blue was the nicest of the them all. Much better than the screaming colors later on, like baby blue and dew green. Did you check that damper cartridge in the Judy XC fork whether it was still intact or blown? That plastic thing was notorious to fail within the first year. Later on they made them out of metal. Duhh...!
I have the exact same bike which I bought in 1996, even the same colour and I still use it. But mine looks more like the “before restoration” version ;-)
@@tatlongbikekalang1390 🙏🏻 thank you for the solid advice. These kinds of projects are best done a little slowly because they can be so enjoyable. Im going to experience every bolt and scrub of grease until this machine is 100% and then some🤙🏻
I've got an absolute mint 1996 stumpjumper in my collection. It was a pleasure to see one restored and not fitted with new rubbish parts
I have the same exact bike - purchased brand new in 1996. Light and fast!

Good video. I screamed CARPET for the first 30 seconds. Then magically the towels appeared.
I'd love to rebuild my stumpy this fast and with out as much swearing!
Nice job buddy. 👏
Go! The slower the better! You'll fall in love with it all over again!

@@DilbertMuc spray it with wd40 and a little elbow grease. If elbow grease doesnt work then i use a rubber mallet.
I like the suspension overhaul, very rare. It seems rather straitforward though!😅
Good proper service! Love it
Awesome job buddy lush bike too 👍🚲👌

Buen video! la bicicleta estaba en excelentes condiciones, más que una restauración fue una limpieza general 😅
Que vídeo maravilhoso irmão! Irei restaurar a minha vermelha tem 🚀

I just came across a 92 stumpjumper m2. im rebuilding it to be a modern-ish hardtail.
Nice! Good luck with your new project. Don't rush it. Enjoy every moment of your rebuild and it will eventually turn out great!

Alright, I’ll just send my bike to you..
Does anyone know what he sprayed onto the components to clean them? It doesn’t look like standard degreaser. Is it white vinegar?
What size person would a large fit?
🤩
The upper headset bearing has been installed incorrectly... 🧐
Yeah. I fixed it immediately.👍
Why? The open-balls side has to go towards the headset on both sides. That's what he did.
Why are these bikes so popular?
It became an iconic bike when Ned Overend won championships with the brand and model. Not this one though. Another stumpjumper variant I suppose.
@@tatlongbikekalang1390 oh thanks for the info, it's very much appreciated. Once u see one, u see them everywhere
Can I borrow
Good video. Please wear gloves.
I usually do. The video was made on several days and probably didn't use one on one of those days. Probably a lazy move. Hehehe. Thanks!
