If the younger Mark had seen the older Mark - I wonder what he'd have thought?
Mark seem to lose it after his split with Brix. Turned to heavy drinking, lost a lot of his mojo. I think his weakness was women. He seemed to go for women he wasn't really matched with. Women who were only dating him because of his fame.
Then people started patronizing him as some old pisshead. Whereas the young Mark seemed intellectual, radical and as sharp as a tack.
Alcoholism does this to people, but would he have done it any differently?
For more than 40 years he tried to get his microphone at the correct height , he never did manage it !

2 randomly wrong pics. Alan Vega near the start and an obvious Nick Cave half way through - oh, and a big gap from his 30's -40's. Those massive drinkers eye bags didn't appear overnight.

"mark e smith of pre-eminent rock group the autumn". Goodness! The music to this video is not great. Maybe someone could suggest a more appropriate band's music to accompany it. At least there is an interesting photo of a young Mark with a young Ian McCulloch at 1:03.
Fuck! I didn't get onto that being Mac. I felt a malenky bit sad at that photo because it was a young Mark in what looked like a moment of mirth.

Wow! For starters, the title is incorrect (there are no pics in the clip of him at 1 - it should be from 6 to 60, and the pics aren't actually even in chronological order). The horrible music is not The Fall. There's a picture that is not even of Mark E. Smith (it's Alan Vega) and another where you can't even really see him (with Nick Cave and Shane McGowan more prominently featured). Nice job, famepix (though, I'm guessing you're a robot)!
