The Argument Woolie is making bothers me on a fundamental level, which is the idea that "nothing anyone in the future can accomplish will ever be as good as the people before them because it's the people before them who invented the fundamentals that they base their skills on", but if someone can actually take those skills, apply them, restyle them and take them even further, that alone is worthy of recognition and DOES make them better than the people who came before them, because they went farther. Otherwise the best players ever will be the first people who ever played basketball, because everything ever done now is just derived from what they started. Not everyone can be Michael Jordan.
