The bananas and churros made me understand this film and it’s motive lmao. It’s really interesting though cause people can interpret and understand scenes with a different perspective. Some can love and hate the characters. This movie was so interesting and honestly one of my favorite right now.

I also really liked how the tennis matches are used as a Metaphore for how the relation is between these three. The score is probably my new go-to music list in the gym. Very energetic and works in a sport movie, but also works for tension.

Thank you for reviewing without spoiling, but do think this movie is Oscar worthy? Or any of them will nominated? I know it's too early 😅, I'm glad Mike Faist is getting in to major role i think people have no idea how talented and underrated he is.

Loved this! Fun music, beautiful cinematography, I was smiling and wanting to dance the entire time, while it was weird to see Zendaya doing such a harsh characterization of a very dominating woman her younger version almost crying on a tree made me emotional, I'm so in awe with her talent, this movie made me love her. The boys were amazing also, I think it was super fun and definitely worth watching.

I've been waiting for this movie since 2023 , Im glad that you have a great review , do you think this is an Oscar worthy movie? or Oscar worthy performance? Anyway, I'm so happy for Mike Faist for getting major role , people have no idea how talented and underrated he is. Love him in West Side Story. I'm also excited to see Z and Josh together in a movie , It's so surprising because It's not even in my bingo card that they gonna work together in one movie. ..In Luca we trust!

No one seems to understand what this movie is. It has nothing to do with tennis, and it is not a love triangle in the way that people typically think about a love triangle. What it really is is an allegory for what happens in the psyche of one man during the course of his 13 year relationship with the woman who becomes his wife. It's about what happens when women and men reject the darker side of men's psyches and the need to reintegrate that darker side so that it is, ideally, in perfect balance with the lighter side. It is the antidote to the idea that a man can be only an "alpha" or a "beta" but not both, and it identifies a new version of masculinity for men to strive for, one that is a balanced whole that benefits both men and women. Tennis is the central metaphor, and everything in the movie is a symbol. Pay attention to hair color and clothing. Ask yourself which side of the man dominates at what point in the relationship. What does the use of food as a symbol tell you about the balance between the two sides? If "real tennis" is, as Zendaya's character says, "a relationship," then ask yourself if after she's injured her desire to play again is actually a desire to reengage with the relationship and why she's so frustrated in that new version of the relationship. Why a tournament halfway between the amateurs and the pros? What do those two worlds in tennis symbolize in the movie? I have to give Guadagnino and the writer Justin Kuritzkes credit; they've managed to fool nearly everyone into thinking that this profound and insightful art movie is really just a piece of popular entertainment. It's almost too clever for its own good.

Saw the movie last night (spoilers), and while it has some strong points, the acting, the chemistry and some of the shots. Overall, wasn't a big fan of the movie. It was 2hr15 minutes long, it had about 30 time skips and was far harder to follow than EEAAO but in some of these scenes it felt like the attention it demands wasn't worthwhile. It also over employed slo mo and every cinematic effect possible to make the tennis points more interesting, but for me, when they made a single serve sequence go for 2 minutes this is going way too far and just took me out of the movie. As someone who watches tennis, some of it was alright, but most was overdone in my opinion, the racket smashing, the number of different edits and angles they chose, and also the 90s euro club music that played through every scene. By the end I thought the movie had to be a satire with the ridiculous music choices during what should have been the most emotionally impactful scenes. The scene at the end with the tornado, with Tashi and Patrick like come on, we get it the tornado reflects their inner situation. The movie under cooked Tashi's injury and how that affected her, this aspect was interesting and could've been explored further. To me the music tried to be both a comedy while also being serious and I just found myself laughing at the ridiculousness of the scenes rather than truly caring about the characters. A lot of potential and some interesting ideas but for me it didn't deliver.

This movie was crappy, boring, very bland, I am absolutely disappointed with it. The play of the actors was mealy, the dialogues were weak, it was supposed to aspire maybe to some sexy thriller, about rivalry in bed and on the court, about a love triangle, a ruthless woman wanting to take advantage of these guys and revenge, and it came out very average. Embarrassing cinema, embarrassing scenes - especially the one about learning to masturbate. Massacre. It's a waste of time, there were films with this theme, much better.
