For "steam", I am just using a regular travel steamer, like you would use for your clothes. I place it about 5 inches away from the piece, just to remove sugar, set color, or make the color "pop". Don't let it get soggy, you don't want it to wilt!

I just got a nice travel steamer from Bed Bath and Beyond for $20. A lot better than the expensive Shark one that I bought!

your coloring technique is so clever w/c will save time and effort.
I didn't cut individual petals, the ribbon just has a scalloped edge from the cutter. Still following the Ribbon Rose idea.
