- We saw how big of a following the John Deere 7810 and Fendt 820 had after our 'Choose your weapon' post on Facebook which had a very tight result between the two, so we've decided to put the two of them head to head over the next few months! Starting with weights and turning circle! 🚜

A very fine 7810 👍the most 7810 in our area have run 18 to 20K hours.

100000% agree 7810 can't go worng
barry reed's test of putting tractors on the sumo subsoiler is best way to test pulling power & traction, tbh the 7810's exhaust note just wins your heart regardless of the job in hand or what ever brand your loyal to.
We bought a 7530 auto power instead of a 820 in 2008. Should have bought the 820! Despite it being 20k more expensive. 7530 was a money pit. Last JD on farm

I really love the Idea ! The'es two are Legends and Keepers for there Brand !
The Challenge's that i think gotta be interesting : cultivating, Transport, PTO Work, maintance.... And also figuring out which one can be take easyer to the modern age with isobus, auto steering, load Sensing, tire pressure control and so on.

I work part time at a friend's farm driving a beasty 7710 sounds absolutely amazing and really aggressive.
I would love to see the two tractors with a front and side/bank/offset mower see which one really bogs down going up hills and which one has the power to slow down going downhill. Hope you guys have a happy 2021!

Those 820s are some beauty, if you can find one with low hours in good nick, they are like hens teeth.
Its a case of horses for courses. But it the fendt had a trailer/ tanker with steering axle it would come out on top. A 200hp tractor needs a good load
Have heard that Fendt tractors perform really good with wheel weights, as they seem to be little bit light without them.
Stick a decent plough on them, I know the JD will be fine but be good to see how the Fendt gets on 👍🏻

It has a lot to do with the weight how it is distributed on the tractors to how well it will pull plowing.

Class idea it would be great to see the two tractor pulling a heavy load Mabye digger full dump trailer r something see which drops more gears and all that or Mabye sit them on a set of mowers in the summer and see the better tractor

For sheer pulling power jobs i would take the 7810, but for everything else the 820 is just perfect. Way better fuel efficiency, handling is perfect and its just way more comfy.

As much as I adore the motor of the JD, I think the 820 is the better package as a whole...
It´s much easier to pickup some load when you need it, the agility of the 820 is much better, the only downside for me is the gearbox which tends to wearout in timespans in between 4-6k hours - this depends on the driver of course - but the sword of Damokles is always hanging over your head 😉
This is going to be an interesting series. Think deeres going to win on brute force challenges. The hitch point/steering lock was interesting

you are right it is more expensive all around but if you have the older models like the 820 or the 515 and older you are almost never broke down.
it is a problem with the newer tractors tho since they have adblue and such

Considering both have Ben very popular in construction aswell as agri, put them on a big 16t+ dumper for a site & haulage test maybe
Both great tractors. One slightly more advanced but at what future cost! I think over time it will be the one that will keep going and you can overhaul the cheapest will win in the end.

What size tyres is the 7810 running on??
Test them both on a tipper and tip them and time them for oil flow to the trailers

@@hellohello3199 agreed I know that, but the fact that you can adjust it is a feature of the tractor which is used and therefore makes it better/ or not, so it needs tested to see?
@@hellohello3199 no need to be smart, I’ve plenty of experience with it on Deere’s and would be interested to see how the Fendt copes as she has an entirely different system, and cannot see why a tractor that possibly costs twice as much can’t have a similar feature
@@hellohello3199 Lol...so you need to get out to adjust the oil flow..lol on the Fendt you can do it from the seat...Fendt has always been at least 10 years in front of JD in development

The cab interior and quality looks so poor in the fendt for such a premium tractor,
Yeah the later 720 etc. models look much better on the inside. But when you get behind the steering wheel of these 800 series with 10k+ hours it feels just like a new one.
