@@anni4995 It actually feels very similar. Only did roller skates a couple of times but the technique between them is very transferrable other than body weight.
Some really awesome jumping there. It's kind of like you scissors the legs like a split jump on the way up then turn the hips and pull in. Lifting the left knee up like a loop does not seem to work well. Timing too is very critical. This is a good visual aid to give skaters an idea of what to do and when to do it.
After seeing these skaters fall on concrete, I feel like I have nothing to complain about when falling on ice with figure skating. BTW, are there any well known clockwise roller skaters out there? In the figure skating world, those of us who are clockwise are pretty rare, so I'm always on the lookout. :)
For some reason whenever I do jumps, I feel more comfortable turning clockwise than counter clockwise... but I've only recently started figure skating so I do it off ice/ off skates most times
Just out of curitosity, as I'm a figure skater and not a roller skater, but are quadruple jumps becomeing more popular/required for the guys in competitions?
it must be so much harder to underrotate jumps in roller skating, because in figure skating you can still land a jump quarter underrotated, maybe not perfectly, but roller skates you'd just fall, right?
The coaches give great instruction and technique but, I also ice skate and the luzt jump looks sometimes like a flip jump when the students perform it but, not when the young man demonstrating the jump at first. I really see what think is a double/triple flip. Please show me the difference. Thank You!
Rafa Lopez in ice skating, the flip jump takes off on the inside edge and the lutz takes off on the outside. If this is not followed (as in the flip takes off on the outside edge, on accident), points would be deducted from the base value of the jump during competition.
I think they mean what is the difference between flip and lutz in roller skating. I do ice skating and am also wondering that. Do they have a way of distinguishing edges?
@@emiwyan2832 Edges work exactly the same for roller skates. The trucks move so that the wheels can point inside or outside, giving an inside or outside edge. If you want to know more about it, look up a video because a visual explanation would be a lot more helpful. But yeah, edges are the same for both ice skates and roller skates
@@user-kh9ki3kq8m yeah I noticed it. On the last championships we were 3 boys with the double lutz and I was the only one with that outside edge (a tiny one but still outside) and when revising the goe I had the best one on that jump.
Jake Dufflebags I guess you have no eyes to see it, right??? Why don’t you speak reality and honesty, saying that YOU couldn’t possibly do on wheels what you do on ice? That’s pretty obvious!
+Frozen IceStar And their outfits are like ice skating dresses and tights. SO CONFUZZLED! Or is it that some country's ice skates are just like that... IDK!!
OF COURSE!!!! I would suggest getting inlines as opposed to quads though, they'll feel a lot closer to ice skates. If you have an old ice skating boot you don't use anymore, you could totally just buy some inline frames and mount them to your old boot. I would suggest snow white frames, they're nice and feel a lot like ice skates without being as expensive or hard to find as pic frames
Uhhh… most of these are flips, not lutzes. A lutz takes off with the foot solidly on a OUTSIDE edge. Most of these are either inside edges or flat edges at the time of takeoff. Not sure about roller skating, but on ice, these would only be given credit as flips.
If you did roller, you would understand how incredibly difficult it is to hit the outside edge on the lutz, and sure, these are 'not perfect' but they are good attempts and in new system on roller, the credit would also be reflected as such.
roller skates are sooo heavy, so it’s like trying to do a quad with 2lb ankle weights on. I can do some decent off-ice/skates jumps but i’ve never gotten past on axel on quads
even the single lutz looks extremely classy when he lands it
Omg. I’m a figure skater, this wasn’t what I was looking for, but so good! I can’t even skate forward on roller skates!
Figure skate easy the artistic roller skating
@@yenimuhtesemyuzylkarakteri7145 figure skating is not easy I have been doing it for 2 years
I am a figure skater, and I can do triple lutz, but for me it’s impossible to even imagine how to do a double on roller skates.🤯
@@anni4995 It actually feels very similar. Only did roller skates a couple of times but the technique between them is very transferrable other than body weight.
4:00 Wow....
That looked like a quad.
The best thing is that it was a good lutz and not a flutz like the other ones
@@imthatextrakid8292 roller skates are so heavy that no one ever did a quad

Janet Slater I jump clockwise but I'm not well-known xD also falling on concrete is actually not that bad, on ice you'll get more bruises

Meeeee
I’m a left I have a ur channel
Have you actually fallen on ice? They have it easy.
they are so talented.. that guy is very lucky, he can fly, and it also looks so elegant

jfluter yes
I went straight for the quintuplet jumps to compete.
@@V.Z.69 ok
no artistic roller-skating isn’t really heading towards quad jumps, the sport really focuses on the artistry of skating!
as a figure skater this creeps me out
Wow it looks like figure ice skating. Just warmer.
awesome. has any roller skater perfected a quad yet?
honestly most of these should be credited as flips imo

you can land a quarter under rotated on roller skates but for it to count in scores it has to be landed fully rotated
You can even fall easily on fully rotated jumps xD If you for example only land on two wheels...you'll fall more often than on icr
I wish there was a skating club in my country. There isn't even a smooth pavement, much less a club 😞
Flutzes fluztes everywhere
They don't have to have a back outside edge. Not sure that would even be possible on roller skates.

How do you get an outside edge on roller skates??😂
Roller skating is nothing like figure skating. You can do about half as much as you can on ice

Who is the very last skater?? Great combo!
