I dont know the Minifreak and it depends on your taste/experience. I would go for trance an used Virus Ti or TI2 if I have money for it...

Amazing presets but It's already EQ? Or this synth is just sounding that thin? I want to buy some synth for trance and i'm thinking of Korg Modwave, Arturia Minifreak, ASM Hydrasynth or Mininova.

These sounds all pre-EQ-ed(with the mininova's built in eq) for sit in the mix instantly. You can switch off the EQ in the Fx slots anytime.

Matter of opinion I get quite a lot of use out of mine and its the cheapest synth out of the 10 I own.
