I met Mensi in Vicenza, Italy, many many years ago. Now that my life has changed almost 100% I still keep him in my heart and remember him as a good man and a great punk singer. RIP Legend.
Only heard yesterday ,last song I was listening to on spotify while I was cleaning yesterday was' last night...' went to sit down and read the news.im glad I've found this vid as I've never seen them live even tho I'm from the same neck of the woods .I was hoping they'd sign up for this years rebellion as it's going to be my 1st one but it's not to be .sadly I've danced around like a loony to this and so enjoyed it ,like my own mini concert..thank you. RIP MENSI UP THE MACKEMS
Glad you liked the vid. Shame I didn't do a better job of filming. This was before I started setting my camera on it's fully manual settings. Some of the setting are on auto, which never turns out good. Anyway, I hope other people will enjoy also.

I love these guys. One of my many favourite groups. They haven't changed a bit. They just got older ha ha. "NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS" I'm SID SWINDLE from Aberdeen, Scotland. U.K. Best wishes everyone. Take Care & Stay Safe, always. 🙂
Saw the Upstarts at 100 ~ 1984 as a 18 year old - and later supporting Johnny Thunders somewhere in North London. 100 club gig was eye-opening. Packed out withPunks, Skins, working class and patriotic but anti -nazi sentiment. Max Slodge in his own world laughing at his private joke.
God damn that's what you gotta do no matter the age. Do what you love and I love them. 1 of my faves punk bands from back in the day. When i surprised all the punks in my school what i listened too and that i had all the good shit. I was str8 giving these cds away to spread music
always loved the Upstarts first saw them live age 14 in London at the Lyceum Aug 1979 supporting Adam & the Ants seen them loads since over the years 100 club is the biggest venue to see them at to get the real Upstarts vibe etc
We are all oi! All with force against police oppression and with solidarity, even if they throw us out of places. Power and strength of Angelic Upstarts. Great band forever
And they still had the audasity of calling Lyndon a sellout, when they are still doing the same most basic punk music there is, claiming they are still "punk" in "attitude" and meanwhile Public Image does whatever their members feel like doing, which at least to me, is literally one of the core aspects of punk.
They may have been old but they still slammed it..............Keep up the good work Punkliveinlondon................hopefully u getting into some gigs soon .................
What happened to Taking Guns to Afghanistan? Oh well, you could always takem to Yemen now. Police killed Liddle Towers, but Guns for the Afghan Rebels killed Big Towers. I do love the Upstarts though. Got more vinyl of them than any other band FULL STOP
