Try mixing your paint and water mix with some glue! It gives a beautiful finish which you can build up to whatever degree you want. It gives a beautiful transparency and is fabulous for ageing a piece. And it seals it too! I’m so cheap...
The casts are made of concrete which is sand, cement and aggregate. There are videos on the channel showing various concrete mixes for varying projects. :)
Hi mate we have started making concrete staues and we are stuck on colours we was told when we first started black base coat and dry brush white over it but it dont seem to be selling very well do u have any tips please thank you the video is amazing
Seems to me that people like the concrete colour and maybe try out using the same technique in this video, but perhaps not so heavy and more subtle, if you're looking to accentuate the details, etc. Cheers Mark. :) PS: Check out other vids on RUclips also for some more ideas. :)
@@dramamask welcome, I ended up watching around 12 of your videos last night , great stuff and very well explained, and chance buying one off you please,? just plain I can paint it up myself

Hi Mate, nice work, i am doing a concrete sculpture (for out side) i did not use white cement do you think i should paint it white so my base colour is white, do you think this will make it easier to get my finished look, i am trying to get a bronze look, thanks.
From my own experience, acrylic paints seem to hold up under sunlight and being outside. You might want to seal the paint with something appropriate though if going outside. When sealing, I use automotive spray lacquer at present, but is all down to preference and what is suitable. :)
Nice video and good work. Do you varnish any of your pieces? I am thinking when they stored outside, would a layer of varnish protect them better against the elements? Thanks
I’m trying to find that same hands design mold , but in a tiny size; 2” max length, and 11/4” width, 1/2” height. Are you aware of a mold this small ? Thank you.
I don't know, I'm not sure if I have ever used brick paint. You could always give it a try and see if it works and experiment on something before applying it to what you want to apply it to. :)
Thank you Mike. I made this mold myself. I do make molds, but didn't think this one would be that popular. I can make a mold of the hand in the video, but will take 1-2 months to make it.

You can use any colour you want for washes and of course you will get different effects. Correct me if I am wrong, but I'm thinking you might be wanting to put a wash on a base coat of gold? Maybe like this: Gold Dragon Cast With Faux Patina Paint Effects: ruclips.net/video/LlKki5nOCos/видео.html

What brand/type of glue do you use?
Nice aged effect on your projects Drama....thanks for sharing...cheers !!!
Cheers Martine! Hope all is well with you! :)
Thank you !
This was exactly what I was looking for ! 😊
A very helpful video. How would you get a sandstone wash finish? What would be the best colours be?
Maybe try out yellow ochre and lighten with white and darken with brown while perhaps using dry brushing and washes.
@@dramamask Thanks for the advice. I tried just that and it has worked a treat! Cheers.
@@alans3330 Glad it worked out! :)
Hello,
This is the first time I encountered your work. Would you please advise as to the cement materials used?

Green base with black and gold highlights looks great
Thanks very much for that
Wow where did you get the Dragon plaque from please?
Thank you for watching, Martin. The dragon plaque was molded from an old plaque from a reclamation yard.

would these colors withstand outdoor/sun conditions? IF not, what would you recommend?

It doesn't really but I usually coat smaller wall plaques with artist for the nice gloss effect
How long this paint would last outdoor in a weather like Florida or Texas?
What type of paint is used? Acrylic?
Yes, it is acrylic paints used here. :)

Thank you Robinson. :) Fete was ok, but it was raining. :o
Can you say what shade brown that was? Van Dyke or some other color?
Just mixed black with brown until I was happy with colour. :)
