I think I know just how Sherpa announces his arrival. " I am Sherpa, friend of batdog, the semi fearless crimefighter. Behold my regal floof! " Jamie, you should have taken some of those acorns and planted them on your travels.
So glad I found this video. Tintern Abbey is beautiful. I visited it in May 2024 but didn't get to spend as much time there as you and Sherpa did. I remember those great doors at 10:37. I took a photo of the "Dog Friendly" sign that was in both English and Welsh. Jamie, you and Sherpa had some wonderful adventures together. You gave him a great life.
It's truly amazing the length of time those structures have lasted and, yet, a small wind blows on today's buildings and they crumble to a pile of rumble. The sheer manpower it must have taken to construct those buildings...Wow!
I think looking at these ruins how majestic they must have been when they were still intact and Knights roaming the hallways and chamber maids. Must have been a sight to see. And of course Sir Sherpa would have been the Lord of this Castle. Cheers Jamie and Sherpa..🍺🍺🐾🐾🐾🐾🐺🐺
Clue is in the name of the video Tintern ABBEY. Sadly no knights, Lords, Ladies or chamber maids. Cistercian Monks inhabited Tintern, until Henry VIII went on a rampage against the Catholic Church. Though I agree would have been great to go back in time and see those who occupied the castles in Monmouthshire like Chepstow, Caldicot, Abergavenny, Grosmont, White Castle, Skenfrith and Raglan.
Magnificent remnants of the Abbey, thank you Jamie & Sherpa for taking us along. I would have loved to have seen footage of Sherpa announcing his entrance, we love to hear what he has to say :)
It is, I live not to far from there. In the past it has inspired works or art and literature from the likes of Wordsworth, Turner, Ginsberg and Tennyson. The whole of the Wye Valley is stunning.
What an amazing adventure. I hope to visit the UK someday, the beauty and history everywhere you look. I believe Sherpa behaved remarkably, after all, life is what it is.
Beautiful lacy tops on the church. Now I see why it's famous. I'm surprised they let you wander around freely. I walked on the Parthenon once in bare feet, not something you could get close to doing now. Such nice photographs of the green grass against the church. Beautiful shots. Even the acorns. What a gorgeous shot, (when Sherp decides to clean himself) absolutely beautiful. I wonder if he knows what majesty he's posing in front of. What an amazing church. Now I kind of feel like I've seen Tintern Abbey. Amazing tree, too.
You dodged a bullet in the gift shop! Usually the shop assistants do that Jedi mind thingy on me and I leave with a bag full of tat, which I don't remember buying!!!
There is always a cow!😂 Saw this was the second church built. The number of man hours it took. No modern machinery, and yet it still stands. Grateful to live in an age where technology and modern conveniences exist. Places like this are humbling though. Truly appreciate the skills, and design work used in their creation. 💙💙
💕🐾 All I can say is "Wow", what an amazing place!!! I can only imagine what it looked like in its heyday...when I think that it was built with only manual labor, I'm absolutely gobsmacked! :D 🐾💕
Right Sherpa's peed on Welsh history. His next task is to howl in church right in the middle of the service. Right when they well into the hymn singing so you suddenly get that embarrassed silence. Thats while they all try to figure out what it was. lol

I know this is an old video, and I don't know if You see the comments on these old ones, if You get a notifikation or some thing. I discovered Your channel in May, and I have been watching so many of Your videos since. You really like the ancient times, don't You. You are always so excited when You see some very old buildings/ruins, and I have also noticed, that You very much love the small things. Like the beauty of a wiev, and old tree, a little fungus. I really like that. You have a gentle soul. Wishing You and Sherpa a lot of wonderful adventures in the future. He is so cute and he has the best dad in the world. Love you Guys. PS. : I have a Border Collie, he is 11 in October, but I only have a bicycle, so I don't get around so much as you 😆. 🤗😘
I'm amazed that these places have survived all these years . It's amazing how they were built all by hand and they still stand today . Have you ever visited Sherwood Forest I understand that there is actually a real Sherwood Forest . Also Robin Hood is actually based on a real person true or false . There is actually a tree in Sherwood Forest where he is supposed to have stayed . Could be another adventure for you if you've never been there .
I live about 30 miles away from Sherwood Forest. It's beautiful ancient woodland, teeming with wildlife. Robin Hood is sadly a fictional character, but the tree you are referring too isn't. It's called 'The Major Oak', and it's 100's of year's old. Robin and Maid Marion reputedly hid inside (it's bizarrely hollow), to evade capture, from the Sheriff's men!
The legend of Robin Hood comes from English folklore, from different historical figures around the 13th centuary, about the time of Prince John who ruled whilst his brother Richard 1st took part in the crusades, however, this has never been proven. Another legend is that he lived for a time in Yorkshire and fought off pirates on the coast. There is a beautiful village called Robin Hood's Bay on the Yorkshire coast which took its name from the legend.
Going through some of these older Sherpa’s Day videos. I’d recognize this place ANYWHERE! Never knew the name of it until today. Next video to watch: Can I Play With Madness.
Henry VIII dissolved the Monasteries in his argument with the Pope , so your find a lot of Ruined ones. It's probably been like that for 400 odd years.
I think Batdog needs me more than he let's on... he plays the tough hero but is always calling me asking for another £5 to be sent to him for more fuel Haha
Why did you cut the Sherpa's howlings in the cafè or whaever palce it was? It's one of the best things seeing people's reactions to Sherpa's introducing himself.
Aw, when you first got there he was super happy and constantly smiling! I think it started to go down slightly when he was attending to his erm personal hygiene. He knew that it's not for viewing and I think he was expecting u to stop filming sooner because after that he kept glaring at you Don't think calling him dog made him happy either. "I have a name dad and it's Sherpa. " I would expect pee in your shoes very soon...
I love how you ad Sherpa travel to visit different places, I used to do this with my dog, Bobby (the Shih Tzu who acted like a husky, lol) Sherpa come visit Hollywood, California ......
Oh, I wanted to add about the name cards at the gift shop...i understand how Sherpa feels for I am not able to find one with my name spelled correctly 😑...i feel your pain on that one.
Lovely watching old videos of sherpas travels Jamie you gave him such a full and happy life💙

There is a beautiful village called Robin Hood's Bay on the Yorkshire coast which took its name from the legend.
@@eponine1966 I know plenty of stuff that's only useful in a pub quiz! 😀😀😀
Stunning old ruins.
Just claiming another piece of the UK. King Sherpa, all kneel to the King.
Going through some of these older Sherpa’s Day videos. I’d recognize this place ANYWHERE! Never knew the name of it until today. Next video to watch: Can I Play With Madness.
Nice and interesting video 👍👍🐺💙😊☺ I like history.
Thanks Maria 😊
When gotta go- you gotta go. Good boy Sherpa
8:06 is that the sound of wind howling through the castle???
🐾🐾🐕🦺💙👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻wonderful tour 😊😊
That place must have been so beautiful. Sherpa says heck. They let it go to ruins - here's what I think of THAT!
Henry VIII dissolved the Monasteries in his argument with the Pope , so your find a lot of Ruined ones. It's probably been like that for 400 odd years.
He wanted to announce that the protector of hooman has been arrived to that place
At 7:48 it was just perfect click
Definitely agree on that click 💙
Omg. Those clever dogs stacked all the carved parts on the side of the property. Someone with the right skill could actually rebuild that abbey.
The building is now Sherpa's 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😎👊
Another spectacular place 😊
Beautiful.
Thanks Morrigan 😊 hope you're having a lovely week
Thank you dear friend! I hope you and Sherpa will too! Have you found a van yet? Praying you come across a good one. 💘💘💘Morrigan
@@MorriganSteel I've found 2 or 3 so far but they all sell really fast in the price range I have... will manage to soon tho ha.
❤😊Sherpa and his papa, batdog too, but he's not one for affection😐
I think Batdog needs me more than he let's on... he plays the tough hero but is always calling me asking for another £5 to be sent to him for more fuel Haha
@@SherpasDay lol that's something I can understand! I have family like that😁
Why did you cut the Sherpa's howlings in the cafè or whaever palce it was? It's one of the best things seeing people's reactions to Sherpa's introducing himself.
Can just imagine what the Abbey look like when it was fully completed
Aw, when you first got there he was super happy and constantly smiling! I think it started to go down slightly when he was attending to his erm personal hygiene. He knew that it's not for viewing and I think he was expecting u to stop filming sooner because after that he kept glaring at you
Don't think calling him dog made him happy either. "I have a name dad and it's Sherpa. "
I would expect pee in your shoes very soon...
Dog is one of the more polite things that I call him Haha
Agree. The film crew should respect the private moments!🤣
I'd still hide my shoes! 😉😄😊
I’m trying to reimagine what this place must’ve looked like in the past
Has Sherpa gone to and peed on Stonehenge? I've enjoyed seeing the sights and also reading up on where you've gone. Keep up the fun!
Glad to see I'm not the only one who answers their satnav ! 🤣
I love how you ad Sherpa travel to visit different places, I used to do this with my dog, Bobby (the Shih Tzu who acted like a husky, lol) Sherpa come visit Hollywood, California ......
Ha we would love to visit... sounds like you had a lot of fun 😊
@@SherpasDay we did. Sherpa you're a Star sonco.me to visit the city of Stars, lol. You'll be gobbled up 😃
Very telling that sherpa scent marked the corner of the protected hallway with no direct access. Tactical pack animal for !ife
The Welsh built things to last hey.... even if Henry VIII took the roof off and the windows out!
Oh, I wanted to add about the name cards at the gift shop...i understand how Sherpa feels for I am not able to find one with my name spelled correctly 😑...i feel your pain on that one.
Haha I'll look out for a no 'e' stacey haha
Aww, thanks, Jamie....it will be a quest for sure....perhaps another adventure for Sherpa....haha....i appreciate it ☺
SHEHPPIWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
😂
Yes Adventure Pleazzz tehehe
