Man, I can't believe 7 years have already passed. Crazy stuff. Glad you liked the video. I can say I still use it every few weeks during mosquito season and it still works like day one and also looks the part. I do empty the gasoline and run the carb dry after each use. Other that that, nothing.. It really is a great machine. Good luck to you, G.
Excellent video by the way. My Stihl dealership showed me the basics of this machine, but had not Idea how to go to granuals if need be, now I know a LOT more, oh and dont forget the chain. I left mine on, and just wrapped it around the big ole lid on top when not needed...
No problem Tony! Glad you picked up some information. Good idea on storing the chain. I don't plan on dusting with mine, but if I do- I'll wrap it up. G.
I have just purchased the 430 model and run 90 nonethanol fuel. I had to run the low jet out just a tad to stop that bog when ramping up rpms. Excellent video sir.
Good deal! Glad you got yours working great. I just got mine out today and after 7yrs or so since posting it still fired up after about two or three pulls. Good luck, G.
Awesome Video! I just bought the SR450 and the instructions are OK...but i was having a hard time...your video cleared it up for me! THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Thanks! Glad it was useful. I only use mine about every three weeks from late spring to early fall but it still works like day one. Good luck with yours, G.
Holy smokes, a real review from someone not trying to sell a product. Didn't know reviews like this existed. I just bought an SR 450 and now I have some good knowledge. Mine came assembled from our local Stihl dealer. Are those reef flip flops?
That's the way I roll Eric...lol. Just my experience and thoughts- no strings. They are Reef. The most comfortable I've ever had. I need a new pair and actually have them on now...lol. Take care, G.
Great review as usual G, not sure I will ever have a use for one of them but review videos like yours could well be a god send for someone researching or setting one of them up. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Nice review, G. I'm researching my purchase now, deciding between the SR-450, SR-200, or the Solo 451. I think you just pushed me to the SR-450. I don't think the SR-200 will be strong enough to push material up to the eves of my house (a secondary consideration to prevent spiders and over-wintering of stink bugs and lady bugs) or some of the taller, bushier trees along the outside of my fence. All similar units have the main features--a blower tank, diffuser, etc.--but looking closely at your review, the Stihl products seem to be better designed in the little details. Like you, I'm happy with the results of my current service, but the rain delays put them behind schedule often, and leave my family with more than a few weekends in the back yard dealing with mosquitos. And the math is easy...if I do it, it will pay for the blower in one season (every 3 weeks, 8 months of the year, at $80 a treatment), plus chems.
Thanks Scott! I did look at the Solo. I could be wrong, but I believe it's gravity fed so trying to shoot upwards wouldn't work too well. I seem to recall some reviews stating something along those lines. I honestly don't recall why I chose the 450 over the 200. It may have been vertical reach like you've noted- not sure. I have a pecan tree that's probably 30 or so ft. tall and have no problem reaching the top. Like you, I spent a fair amount of time researching my purchase and am still extremely pleased with the 450. How I got to the 450 I can only guess- like I said. Yes, as I recall I believe my math worked out to about 13 applications to pay off. I believe I stated it in the video somewhere. That time has come and gone. As it stands now, I believe my outlay for chemicals is about $6-$7 per application. With mine seeing such little use, and with it being a commercial unit, it should last me many many years. I know I'll have to change fuel lines, etc. but that's easy. Which ever you decide to go with, feed back with your thoughts! Take care, Scott, G.
Very good review! Thank you. I've used this model a few times for mosquitos and never had any problems. I was trying to justify buying one this year and this video just reaffirmed it for me. Thanks again.
Thanks Bill! The end of this season will be when it's paid for itself for me. Since it's just for my use, it should last many years. Hard to choke out up-front, but well worth it. Good luck with yours when you get it. You might even get a better deal if you get one before spring. Good luck,G.
Very thorough video, I appreciate it! I'm thinking about using that misting nozzle attachment on a diy project. Do you happen to know the inside diameter of that end nozzle piece where it attaches to the blower tube? Thanks!
I have the same one but if you leave it full overnight it starts to leak out of the tube I think they should’ve put some kind of ball valve on the hose so you can shut it off and then there’s no chance of it leaking
Rob, I never leave chemicals in mine, so I don't know if it would leak over time. But, when I use the fluid shutoff lever when using it, it never leaks. There is a shutoff valve in the handle that has a couple of o-rings. Perhaps yours are worn out. Here's a link to a site that shows the parts, and the sizes of the o-rings. In the handle section, they are parts 17 and 18 Hope this helps, G. www.diyspareparts.com/parts/stihl/diagrams/sr-450/519c74b2-ee26-43bc-8474/
Nice review. Can you tell me a little bit about the chemicals and how they're applied? I got a monster mosquito problem too. I've tried a half dozen different chemicals already and nothing seems to have any effect on the blood suckers.
I can tell you the products I will be using, but do your homework atop my comments. Talstar P is the insecticide. It is what most pros use, and what they used on my yard. It works great and is good for 3-4 weeks. For mosquitoes, the directions say to mix 1oz to 1gal of water and apply to 1000 sq/ft. Not to be applied to edible crops, water, etc. You can find the instructions online for reading. Also, I will be using Archer IGR (insect growth regulator). This disrupts their life cycle. It will make juveniles sterile so they can't breed, and some other things I believe. Don't quote me, but I believe it's also 1oz to 1gal of water, but applied to 1500 sq/ft. Both chemicals will be mixed in the same solution and applied at the same time. There are specific mixing instructions, so read them as well. Talstar P leaves a long residual but is not a fast knockdown. It might take a couple of hours after contact to take down a sucker. You can also add something like ExciteR. It does not leave a long residual, but is for a fast knockdown. For me, I'm not using it to save on costs. I don't mind it taking a couple of hours. If you have standing water where larvae might be present, you can use a larvicide like Altosid Pro-G. I did not read anything about it, where it can be used, safety, etc. I do know that is what they had in their truck when treating my yard. Either way, if you do use any of these products, pay close attention to the safety information to remain safe. It's important to target where they rest. Mostly the underside of leaves, tall grass, bushes, plants, trees etc. Just spraying on the top of leaves, etc. does not have a good effect since they don't stay in contact with the surface long enough. The underside is where it's at, and the key to success. You can use a standard pump sprayer instead of a mist blower. The penetration of thick foliage might not be a good, but it should still work fairly well. Hope this helps, G.
I thought when you bought from a Stihl dealer, they assembled the equipment, tested it and gave an overview of the operation, as part of the sale? Was this in a box?
It was boxed. I usually ask for things boxed since I like to assemble them. Plus I get content to post. I don't recall if that was the case here though. Take care, G.
I just purchased a used SR450, I plan on adding the high pressure pump and ULV kit. I noticed there is a round hole perpendicular to the orange nozzle on the end of the blower tube. Have you determined what is the function of the hole? It looks like a rod of sorts could be inserted through the hole? Thanks for the awesome video, do you have any updates after your use of the SR450? On Edit: Sorry for blowing up your email with all my likes to the comments made on the video 😁😁
That's cool Brad! I can see the hole you mention in the video at this point. ruclips.net/video/SVtYFsm0mrI/видео.html I've scanned through the manual and saw no reference to it. I don't know what the purpose is. Good luck, G.
I was mentioning the problem with the spacer install to my dealer as he was putting it on.... And he was having problems too.... He snapped the the Orange plastic part while trying to pry it down to get it to fit.... So yes that is clearly an issue that needs addressing. BTW he ordered a new part to replace the one he snapped.
Well I now know full well now it wasn't just me....lol. In no way should installing it be that difficult- and to the point of breaking things in the process! Good on your dealer for making things right. Aside from that, and other minor notes in the video, it's been a great machine for me. Good luck with yours. Take care, G.
Not in my truck Greg. I went out and measured the blower and it's about 27" tall. But, with the tank removed it's about 19 3/4". My truck is about 20" so it would just go without the tank installed. Hope this helps, G.
helps alot actually i really appreciate it. i like to keep everything low profile like my 50 gallon low profile rig birchmeirer iris 15 backpack sprayer if i ever want a bed cover hey if you use a ladder i reccomend looking into backrack no drilling with a rear bar so your truck doesnt look to much like a work truck thats what i did with mine. but yeah im gonna buy a SR450 ASAP now thanks
Good details. I have never had to put together a Stihl product that i purchased from a dealer. I always thought that was part of their sales support. They put some gas in it, verify it starts, show how to use it, and try to sell you stuff that extends the warranty. Have you used it as a leaf blower yet? If so, any feedback?
Thanks! I'm pretty sure I asked for one that was boxed. I don't fully recall but that is the way I've always rolled. I like doing it myself. They did up sell me with a synthetic oil deal that added time to the warranty. I think it was a year or two for like 14 bucks for 6 or 8 bottles of oil. I did it since I would need it anyway and thought it was fair. No, not just for a blower. It seems like the "wand" would be too short so it would be hard to get under anything wet or packed down. They may have an accessory but I never looked. I have a back pack Echo I purchased about 23yrs ago and it still works great. Only changed the primer bulb and cleaned the carb once. Still has the original plug in it...lol. Unbelievable!
Helpful tip. Tape your white screen onto the end of your wand. That thing will come off from just banging around or setting it down after your done. I'm gad they made it white though. The solo blower is black and I've lost that thing so many times. By the way, the new 430 blower will blow almost twice as far as this one.
I have noticed that as well- the screen popping off if the wand hits anything. I only do my property so it's not a thing for me- but taping it on is a great tip for anything else. Take care, G.
Brad, I'm using Talstar P and Archer IGR. They were what the pro's were using on my yard. Do your homework for safety, etc.- but for mosquitoes, I use 1oz. of each per gallon of water. I got my products here: www.domyownpestcontrol.com . Good luck, G.
And what kind of settings do I have to use when I will use it as a leaf blower ? Dust setting ? Cause it doesn't work very well. My ex Husqvarna 350 BT ( 2.2 hp ) worked better. Do you know why is that ?
Any thoughts on how efficient it is? That is, I'm trying to figure out if this device would be practical spraying for ticks along a ten-mile trail system I help maintain. I figure it's probably about 5 total acres. The Permethrin I am thinking of using gives five refills for this tank per quart. But if it's gonna take five refills per, say, one acre, it may not be economically feasible.
Chris, spraying for ticks using this and the proper chemicals would work great. But, with covering that much distance, toting it for 10 miles would be a total pain if on foot. You would also need to have extra water and chemicals. As to the efficiency related to my use- it works out great. I guess it depends on the chemical coverage you need to apply for it to be effective. You should be able to find the label online for the chemical you choose. The one I use states something like 1oz. per gallon of water to cover 1000 square ft. Hope this helps in some way. Take care, G.
Maybe a better option for you, Chris, would be a larger tank to pull behind a garden tractor. It likely depends on what shape that trail is in, as to whether or not you can get down it with a small garden tractor. But a 26 gallon tank sprayer, for example, might do you better. As for cost, a good tank sprayer will be comparable in price, or maybe a little cheaper than the Stihl. But that math only works if you already have the tractor.
@@ScottHammet Yes. Thought of this, on an ATV. As wide as our trail is; single track. But in places it's so steep we are concerned about weight shift with 26 gallons tipping it over. CG
drew O'Neil 1 second ago Hi G, I just got the Stihl SR430 Sprayer/Blower, you have great review on it and I had a question, I pried out the basket strainer and the outside ring came with it with the tube attached I assume the tube is to be attached to the little port inside the tank not just laying in the tank freely correct??? also is it supposed to come with all 3 metering knobs, mine came without the standard one and I'll be spraying for ticks already found some on the pooch (Feb 17th uugghhh) thanks so much great review!!!!
Thanks Andrew! Yes, the tube should be connected to the port in the bottom of the tank. I'm pretty sure this is what pressurizes tank to push the fluid out. The 430 is a bit different than my 450 so I can't speak about the metering knobs. Mine only came with one though, which is adjustable. Hope this helps, G.
Sorry Rob, I do not. I would take a fitting to the hardware store and see if you can match one up that will work. I know Ace has a variety. Good luck, G.
Thanks for the review of this product. I hope you don't mind answering a few questions I have. I read in the feed that you use about 2 gal. on your property and then run water through to clean out. How big is your property and how long does it take you to spray the 2 gals out? What State are you from. Have you tried any of the organic products for mosquitoes? Just some curious question before getting one of these units myself.
Thanks Joseph! I'm going to answer the questions in the order they were received- albeit long winded. 1) Yes, I mix up two gallons for my treatments. Personally, I use Talstar-P and Archer IGR. For my application I use 1oz each per gallon. The size of my lot is about about 6250sq/ft. I deducted my structures and actually spray about 4200sq/ft plus a few trees. I set the machine to about 2.5 on the metering nozzle and spray the entire yard once to ensure I get at least some coverage everywhere. Then I make another loop focusing more on areas we're likely to be. It probably takes me about 10min to spray the entire 2gal. Setting up, mixing up, spraying and cleanup- the whole process takes just about 30min. You kind of have to play around with the metering and walking speed to get just the right formula for your needs. 2) I'm on OK. Mosquitoes are a huge nuisance for us. 3) No, I've not tried any organic products. From what I recall in my research they might work well, but may also need to be applied more frequently. That's all I can say about organics. I get my products from www.domyown.com. They're great! Dig around their site for what you're interested in, read the Q&A's, reviews, download labels for information, etc. They even have a live chat I've used before to ask about certain things. I have no affiliation with them so that's simply my honest opinion of them and their service. Let us know what you think about the machine once you get it. Plus the products you land on and how they work. Hope this helps! Take care, G.
Completely happy with it! No problems at all. I use Talstar P for the kill/barrier and Archer insect growth regulator. One ounce of each per gallon for mosquito control. Take care, G.
I saw some directions in either the manual- or on the chemical instructions. They spoke about testing with water and practicing pacing yourself over a given area to get a specific coverage. Not much help, but perhaps someone else will chime in. Good luck, G.
I have been reading several reviews online about how this unit and the sr200 have a problem with leaking and soaking the users back/legs. What is your experience with that issue?
No problem Chris! Sounds like the sr200 is working out at least for the first use. If it does become a problem in the future, please post back so others can benefit. Take care, G.
@@ghostses I had this problem with my 200 also, it seems i really have to crank on the cap to get it to seal and not leak. I am in a real debate about the 200 or 450. I like the light weight of the 200.
Mine is still leak free. I've never worn a 200, but the 450 does weigh a far amount and I only use 2gal at a whack for my use. I do struggle a bit to get it on but after that it's pretty manageable. Perhaps you could find a store and put a display model on, and then imagine the extra weight if it were full? Good luck, G.
Hi. Why did the Stihl dealer told me that is not recomended to use it as a leaf blower ? Is that true or he is just trying to make me buy another product ?
I would agree Daraban. In my opinion, the wand is too short so you can't get under the leaves to move them. I don't know for sure, but mine doesn't seem to deliver as much air as my other backpack blower. Hope this helps, G.
Thanks for the video. I'm thinking about getting one, to use with water only, to help with fire suppression, as I do prescribe fire on a 565 acre nature center every year. I also like that it could be used as a regular leaf blower too. Will you be doing an updated 3 year review for more pros and cons and wear and tear?
Thanks Alan! I probably won't be doing an update, but can say it's worked flawlessly for me since day one. Mine only gets used every 3 weeks for about 6 months a year to treat my property. The only thing I do to it is drain the fuel after each use and wash it out. It always starts up within 2-3 pulls at a new fill. Good luck, G.
It was a 26min video so I don't know what you're referring to. But if whatever you're referring to would create a better product, why not? If the cost rises, it would be worth it for a better product. G.
@@ghostses I was talking about adding baffles to what looks to be a simple 1 pieces blow molded tank. I think baffles is a good idea. They would probably need 2 sets of tooling for a different molding operation and another for joining 2 pieces. Although another good idea adding a valve sounds difficult and expensive to me.
@@BG-vq9fd I understand now what you were referring to. I agree, they would need to injection mold the tank in halves, then use some sort of heating element to warm up the plastic, then push them together to "weld" them together. Much like fusing Polyethylene pipe for natural gas. That would be three operations over just one blow mold. It would increase the cost, but the economy of scale should help minimize any extra expense to the consumer. I think the fluid shutoff is some sort of cam that simply crimps the hose shut and it's not a valve, but I could be wrong. The automatic fluid shutoff Idea, when killing the unit, could be done by adding a linkage between the two- as I saw it. Thanks for the response and take care, G.
I'm assuming you're aware of the fluid shut off lever on the top of the grip. If so, you might have something wrong in the grip. I would take it apart to see if anything is broken. Hope this helps, G.
No, not stupid- how were you supposed to know. Glad you got it sorted out. Much better than having to buy parts for it! You can probably find the manual online if you didn't get one. I'm curious though. What did you have to give for it used? If you don't mine me asking. G.
Thank you for the review! I have bought one myself and thats exactly what i think of it... great machine but very heavy and difficult to stand up on your feets with full tank... still "Stihl" is an amazing brand
Excellent review. I know what you mean about not being able to find out much about these units online. If I'm not mistaken, Stihl is a German company. With that being said, where is this unit manufactured? Germany, China or somewhere else? I would buy this unit just based on your review, it was that good, but I'm curious as to where it is manufactured. Thank you for your time.
Thanks Mr. Doe! Yeah, I was surprised how little was available. I do believe you are correct- they are a German company. The only thing I can find on my unit is something like: "Manufactured by Stihl, Brazil, with domestic and foreign components." I don't recall if I mentioned it in the video, but there were only two languages written on the box- neither being English. One I recognized as possibly being German, the other I didn't have a clue. Now I know it was made in Brazil- it may have been Portuguese. Either way, I found it odd I couldn't even read the box in the store...lol. It did include an English section in the manual though. Hope this helps, G.
Thanks for the review, I've been trying to find a good review on the 200 model which as you said is just smaller. My house is in the middle of 5 acres of woods on the edge of city limits. At the end of this spraying season the county will no longer be fogging/spraying for mosquitos if your driveway is over 200 ft long, mine is 385ft. I'd have to pay for them to come back here, on top of the millage I already pay. They still do twice a year crop dusting over wooded areas using a ground corncob inoculant. Figured I could save some money and get it done more then once a month if needed.
No problem Sir! Yeah, I found it odd these blowers are hard to find any information on. I did peak at the 200 at the store, but didn't really study it or even look at the price. At a glance, it did look like a quality machine. I wrote a reply to TheDisorderly1 explaining what I will be using, along with some other info. You might take a peek at it for some more information. Even with going with the 450, it will pay for itself in about 12 uses for me. If you do go with an SR-200, let us know what you think of it. Good luck, G.
I have the 200 and it works great for spraying for bugs. I do not think that it has the option to do dusting, but I could be mistaken. The main differences that I have heard is the power of the blower, and the tank. Both of which are not that big of a deal in my applications. I use it to spray at my house, cabins, and my kids daycare. Use the same kind of insecticide that G does, last for about a month or so in MN. Does nothing to take care of black flies as they come from areas further away. I also spray at dusk and get rid of about 95% of the bugs.
Thanks for chiming in Matt! I took a look at the manual for the 200 and it is for misting only- no dusting or spreading. Good to know you like yours. It might help Sir in making his decision on getting one. Take care, G.
It seems that a lot of people are having a problem with the fluid product/insecticide tank leaking around the gasket and running down their back. The old style was designed much better. I had no Idea that this unit would distribute dry matter also. I replaced the gasket between the tank to no avail. I explored the internet for a remedy, no luck. It appears that the black plastic that is permanently attached to the bottom of the tank has bowed over time. I took the old gasket that didn't appear to be damaged and double stacked it with the new gasket and it slowed down the leaking considerably but not completely. I live in middle Georgia and I'm sure this machine has been left in the sun which probably attributed to the distortion of the mating face from the tank to the blower. I guess the next option would be to buy a new tank and keep it out of the sun.
I can't say. I've not had a problem with mine leaking, but will say its never been left out in the sun. I think you're on to something there. Good luck, G.
@@ghostses I was unaware what the dry side was for until I watched your video. Great video. I filled the tank and the leak got considerably worse. Upon further investigation I found the vent/pressure hose had come loose at the top. It was hard and not sealing at the bottom. I replaced the rubber tube and tried it with the single new gasket. I still had a leak so I doubled the gaskets. Didn't leak a drop.
I would like to see an electric start... maybe they did not do that because of the possibility of dust explosion? Keep cost down? I have always disliked a backpack blower for that reason. but it is what it is, I am actually making money in 2 weekends with this brute... good piece of equipment.
I am very curious as to what company did your treatments as reading through the comments it appears that the company you used uses the exact same products and equipment as the company i work for. With that being said talstar active ingredient is bifentherin which you do need a license to apply it, i believe. Pretty easy to get through the dmv and doa costs 30 dollars. Just need to be certified in general pest control and public health pest control. Like i said i believe you need one. I could be wrong, but my company tells me you do otherwise you get a huge fine from doa if they catch you applying the chemicals. It is also a carcinogen, so make sure to wear proper PPE! P.s. I'm sure you know this by now, but just in case for anyone else reading this DO NOT PUT ANY KIND OF INSECTICIDE ON FLOWERS YOU WILL KILL THE POLLINATORS!!!!!!!
I'd rather not say Cody, but I believe it's one of the franchise companies. I liked the results of the service, but the service itself was spotty. Mostly due to rain delays causing backlogs. I could be wrong as well, but I believe you only need to be licensed if you are in business and charge for service. But with that said- it's up to everyone to do their own research. I do, but that's a good point! Good luck, G.

The chemicals I'm using are dangerous while wet so all safety precautions should, and will, be utilized. I didn't mention any of that in the video, but probably should have, since I was only reviewing the machine itself. Thanks for the post, G.

Good Review! We only use Stihl products in our landscaping business and this will be a good addition! Thanks!
It's a great machine John. Good luck, G.
More good info than on the Stihl website and any other places. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Take care, G.
Very thorough video, I appreciate it! I'm thinking about using that misting nozzle attachment on a diy project. Do you happen to know the inside diameter of that end nozzle piece where it attaches to the blower tube? Thanks!
Thanks! At the end of the tube where the diverter attaches- the ID at that point is right at 3 7/8". Hope this helps, G.

I've scanned through the manual and saw no reference to it.
Take care, G.
what is the difference between dusting/spreading and misting?
Good question Jason. Dusting/spreading is dispersing dry products. Misting uses wet products. Hope this helps, G.
Will this fit in bed of pickup without sticking over the bed rails?
Not in my truck Greg. I went out and measured the blower and it's about 27" tall. But, with the tank removed it's about 19 3/4". My truck is about 20" so it would just go without the tank installed. Hope this helps, G.

No problem Greg! I keep my ladder in an enclosed trailer- but thanks for the tip. Good luck with your SR450. G.
Great video. What products are you using for you mosquito control?
Brad, I'm using Talstar P and Archer IGR. They were what the pro's were using on my yard. Do your homework for safety, etc.- but for mosquitoes, I use 1oz. of each per gallon of water. I got my products here: www.domyownpestcontrol.com . Good luck, G.
Thank you very much!

And what kind of settings do I have to use when I will use it as a leaf blower ? Dust setting ? Cause it doesn't work very well. My ex Husqvarna 350 BT ( 2.2 hp ) worked better. Do you know why is that ?
Neither setting will make it work better as a leaf blower. Please review my previous comments. Take care, G.

@@ghostses Hello Ghostes
CG
Good suggestion Scott- and that sounds reasonable Chris! Good luck, G.

Hi G, I just got the Stihl SR430 Sprayer/Blower, you have great review on it and I had a question, I pried out the basket strainer and the outside ring came with it with the tube attached I assume the tube is to be attached to the little port inside the tank not just laying in the tank freely correct??? also is it supposed to come with all 3 metering knobs, mine came without the standard one and I'll be spraying for ticks already found some on the pooch (Feb 17th uugghhh) thanks so much great review!!!!
Thanks Andrew! Yes, the tube should be connected to the port in the
bottom of the tank. I'm pretty sure this is what pressurizes tank to
push the fluid out. The 430 is a bit different than my 450 so I can't
speak about the metering knobs. Mine only came with one though, which is
adjustable. Hope this helps, G.
You left out something you did mention about the rubber gaskets on the tank the bottom of the tank! But overall good review👍
Thanks Clifford. The gaskets are integral to the tank- so I saw no need to mention them. Take care, G.
Do you happen to know the diameter of the clear hose
Now that you've had this for a few years are you happy with it? What's your preferred insecticide? Thank you.
Completely happy with it! No problems at all. I use Talstar P for the kill/barrier and Archer insect growth regulator. One ounce of each per gallon for mosquito control. Take care, G.
@@ghostses thank you
@@Buldgr No problem! G.
New to spraying.... How do you figure out the flow rates so you aren't wasting the spray or putting too little out so that it's ineffective?
I saw some directions in either the manual- or on the chemical instructions. They spoke about testing with water and practicing pacing yourself over a given area to get a specific coverage. Not much help, but perhaps someone else will chime in. Good luck, G.
I think when fogging for bugs... it covers much nicer if you do not use and "Diverter" with no wind, and walk fast hehehehe.
I'll try that out Tony! I bought it at the end of the season, so I've not even used it yet. G.
I am in the market for a leaf blower as well. How well does this fare for that purpose too? thanks.
I have a dedicated blower, so I've never tried it for that purpose. Good luck, G.
I have been reading several reviews online about how this unit and the sr200 have a problem with leaking and soaking the users back/legs. What is your experience with that issue?
I can't speak for the sr200 Chris, but sr450 has never leaked a drop. Good luck, G.
@@ghostses Thanks. I bought the sr200 and have only used it once and had no issues at all.
Do i need mix some 2t with this machine
Not sure what you mean. It does require an oil and gas mix since it's a 2 stroke engine. Hope that answers your question.
@@ghostses Awesome! Thanks for the reply!

Why would they add more complexity and cost?
I just got one, used of course but mine just pours water out so I’m not sure what’s wrong

The only thing I can find on my unit is something like: "Manufactured by Stihl, Brazil, with domestic and foreign components."
I don't recall if I mentioned it in the video, but there were only two languages written on the box- neither being English. One I recognized as possibly being German, the other I didn't have a clue. Now I know it was made in Brazil- it may have been Portuguese. Either way, I found it odd I couldn't even read the box in the store...lol. It did include an English section in the manual though.
Hope this helps, G.
John Doe also how much gas does it use would you say?
sorry for so many questions
Can you just use a leaf blower and pump sprayer together?

Good video. Helped a lot. Thank you.

Thanks this was very helpful.
Thanks Richard! Glad you found it informative.
