Question, Pastor Begg: I have heard the Congregation recite with you, the Westminster Confession. Within it, I heard “we believe in the Holy Catholic Church”. ?? How can that statement go with you teaching the Gospel, and a direct relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, the only way for us to reach the Father , and priesthood was cancelled out, when Jesus died and three days later, arises to new life, and His true place as our Prophrt, Priest and King!? The only One, from God, Who left believers the Holy Spirit, when He ascended. Thank you!

@@pattih7 but it is not a pairing of theologies, the term " catholic" does Not only refer to the Catholic church, maybe look up definitions of catholic vs Catholic.

Alistair recommended recently I recall as I had just purchased after someone else recommended it and I ordered it. So happy to settle in now and listen to this... :)

It’s a lower case catholic, meaning “universal,” as in all true believers, not the Roman Catholic Church.

Good question and I agree that Alistair should provide an answer. First time I hear about the confession.
It also appears in The Apostle’s Creed. Holy catholic church means holy universal church.
