Brilliant! I raced a 350 there in 1982, my first Road race, brilliant fun and very friendly, I wished I'd gone back but you know how it is, expensive weekend! Thanks for posting

Ralph Davidson here, son of George, former small-time sponsor and part owner of that red Cotton ridden by Steve Cull. I did a search on Temple 100 and I feel lucky to have found this. Brings back fond memories of a race in Ireland nearly every Saturday from about 1976 up to 1986 when I moved to Liverpool.
I think you travelled with my Father and some others to Daytona in about 1980.

I remember George well and his great efforts at making that red Cotton a very successful machine winning the NW200 and many of the Irish road races. I wasn't at Daytona in 1980, but maybe he was along in '81 when I was there with Donny Robinson

Hi Iain Palmer - Sorry I deleted your comment by accident, so I cannot respond to your request. Can you resend your query about the TZ350 again, thanks

I can smell the R30 just watching this.
Memories of TZs and proddy bikes and an old Transit full of fuel and oil that would have burnt for a year if it caught fire.
    Great vid.

I saw my house!!! Not far from cowshit corner, you guys did well to ride on that surface, all the crap from Jim's cows had lifted the tarmac and made some huge pot holes which you dont see on the video.
Thanks for posting this and take care, great memories.

I was surprised that no-one else had mentioned the cow shite. They should make non stick saucepans out of it......any god fearing racer would pick a drop of wet diesel on the road rather than than cowshite

I moved to England for a while and Alex George was running a recovery business not far from me, when I mentioned the Temple he looked rather shocked and recalled a few slippery moments on that stretch of road. I can remember when Mick Grant turnd up on a works Kawasaki, did a lap and put it back in the lorry and went home

Hardly a four stroke to be seen. Contrast that with today.

there would have been lads at the time watching this and saying the same thing. "What happened to all the 4 strokes?"

So sad to see how TV etc. has killed the number of spectators attending events. Amazing to see how people used to turn out for the racing. Great video, thank you for taking the time to make it

Proper road racing. In someways reminiscent of riding Warwickshire/Northamptonshire, Leicestershire B roads and lanes between transport cafes in the early 1960s. We did not race. It would have been illegal on English roads. Plus our bikes had to be road legal & were the ones used for commuting.

Great posting Conor. Temple circuit was brilliant. This 2 stroke era was the most exciting road racing ever.

Would I be right in saying those commentary snippets are from the film Greasy Rider. Anyone got a copy of it ?

This Temple 100 video is from the Greasy Rider film. I copied off it and the Embassy final race from the original VHS tape of the movie which I still have from 1980.
