@@zaidlacksalastname4905 absolutely agree, honestly it's been the only thing I've been playing for last few months, had problems sitting down and playing video games, but even in small segments I can play that has enough player agency so I can do crazy cool shit with the combat, like almost on a crisis level.. definitely on a fear level a little bit more open-ended because of the scape, depending on if you're at an area that had a structure, or if you're just in the open world at that point it's it's you know it's good to practice with.. but either way you go, the verticality the actual layout of the city itself is really well structured for a lot of different things,... Once you get past I think level 10 is like you have to grind to level 10 which doesn't take long like a few hours, and that's not a good thing I think the assumption is that you're wrapped up in the story where everything to be all together when they released it cuz once you get past 10 like the bullet sponge should start going away and you start all the options start opening up, but you can fuck yourself on your perks but the game's not that hard so you can't fuck yourself that hard you can just fuck yourself out of the fun you have if you were smart... any game that lets me just replace segments over and over again to come up with different cool ways to solve the kill puzzle, especially when you have the hostages cuz well the enemy AI is is actually not bad when the scripting doesn't break the civilian AI is it's it's and I turned around they're gone it's okay... Lol wish that worked that way with the hostages, they're always the ones that never do that... But as far as the enemy I I goes I'm happy with it, I haven't sat down and done an analysis of it.. but the design is solid it's just the scripting executions that are buggy which makes sense given how much scripting goes into doing something like that and then there's the game scripting on top of that and then their CD project red's method of scripting which is it has a lot of scripting it's it's very long and integrated and you know I bet that served them really well with Witcher 3 on a kind of how much was context context context i e I go here this happens this happens this happens and you have a very small amount of player control that would initiate that, I mean fucking still more than Skyrim so fuck you Bethesda... But with a shooter especially a shooter that is trying to middle ground between having actual buttons to do things and being on a console.. like just from what I've gathered I understand why the scripting breaks down a lot, and it really doesn't break down that much when you break when you look at like open world situations before 2015 LOL like Skyrim was utterly completely script broken at every point at some point like there is no end to the script breakdowns and they're not even good scripts LOL and the assets like there's there's like what animation limitations that show up in front of you, Granted they show up in cyberpunk because for some reason they decided to do an extraordinary high asset game on those old incredibly slow hard drives in the consoles from a while ago.. and and it's and it's got a streaming focus too, so it's just culling everything... And as we know it often culls too far... Fortunately it seems like the linkage between this breakdown because everything is so temporary doesn't like follow you with some rare exceptions so I reload will fix it etc and if you can just ignore it or if it doesn't cause a problem like the CV AI doing something weird it's not going to cause a chain reaction like 99% of Bethesda script errors or the stalker script errors... although thoseI really understand because the base design for x-ray was to be a large environment ecosystem to begin with so it would be probably more interconnected they also did a lot of translations to like regular language command that's why you were able to go in and change pretty much every parameter you wanted for the gunplay and ballistics and whatnot.. I'm not sure if that was the development process for them, which is what Bethesda does with my understanding is correct.. or if they did that in anticipation for the modding or if that was for selling the xraya engine which was the original goal as a like a Sim engine like I think they had they wanted to do some military stuff they might have already done it I can't remember exactly.. there was a very long time when they didn't know what to do with it, and they had a really cool game in the pipeline that they shifted from and turned into stalker and I feel like I feel like we missed out by not getting to that. Either way, cyberpunk requires you to put some time into it and it shouldn't.. once you get there you get to that level where you're like you should have been able to get two very quickly at the beginning if they had been able to formulate how the systems were going to work and have to teach them, I'm assuming at this point it would have also not even considered having the dumbass phone call bullshit.. I'm assuming that all those calls were dropped in at the last second when they realized that they were shipping a game, like wait what we're shipping when next month what the fuck? I just hope that they actually do change these things instead of sticking with them, we're never going to hear about it though because the backlash was so hardcore on their transparency and sadly their PR they've been burned both ways now by it, and then they got hacked so yeah proper gang bang gone wrong and we're probably not going to know anything about anything until it happens, which is sad cuz it was really cool how open they were with the development processes but they made their bed and they fucked it up, CD project had learned a lot of very important lessons early on and if they had just stuck to that even they're fucked up management cycle and structure which was well beyond the actual skill sets for the original employees but that I kind of understand what you do fire them, they're the people that have been there from the start.. yeah I'm going to stoppeople either want to hear it or don't care or don't etc.. I just, people say the combat's bad it's not it's at least not to me, and I have very high standards.. but it's definitely not designed in any way other than that it's designed in every way, and also in the RPG way so when you get to a point where you rpged in the modern term of do things and experience and shit, to a certain extent then you can get these options where normally they would be automated for a crpg but in this case they give you the ability to do different things and combine different things and, then it's good luck which is the way it should be as far as I'm concerned in any shooter... also the HUD I had to remove the HUD about a couple hours into it fortunately I was not alone I was not nearly as in good company as I thought I would be apparently there's only a few of us but some good people did do a HUD modifications and now I have a crosshair, and very small objective markers that just showed distance in very small type so you really sometimes you got to really scan to see em it's wonderful. Downside is no health bar upside is I die in three hits anyways so by the time the red hits, that's still in so the low health screen effect shows up time to spam the heel thing, I'd feel worse about that if the gameplay didn't function with it and still provide a challenge given that you die in like three hits still but that's just cuz I never body up, or give a fuck about buying up.... You don't need body if they can't hit you, and they can't hit you if you shoot them first and then hit them first, or hit the first one grab them break their neck or no actually shoot the other guy then bitch slap his buddy break his neck and and continue from there but that's one of my favorites ever since riddick that's been one of my things you get the Richard b seal of approval if you have a game where you can do that specific amount level of things, and you get the Richard b seal of approval silver edition if you can do it in freeform which you can in this game and in crisis and in riddick and in Wolfenstein I think as well machine star breeze developed... if anybody else has any other titles that you can do that please let me know I will play that game LOL that's a murder boner right there...

I think it's better that he is underrated. I saw too many youtubers who got all the attention they were worthy for, and they became mainstream. Being mainstream leaves you money- and attentionhungry and that means transforming from an original hobbyist to a view-milking nobody, a part of the commercionalized goo that is the (in)famous part of social media. It's a corruption that has affected too many people, and even the youngsters of these times. The few people who are still creative and still have reasonable standards should be left unnoticed by the most, for the corruption should not affect their hobby.

I like to compare Valve and Nintendo. Both companies have the balls to do whatever they want and their reputation allows that to happen. Unlike Nintendo, Valve has even bigger balls to tell you "I can do whatever the hell I want and you don't know what you want." When Half Life: Alyx was announced, so many people were complaining that they couldn't play this because they couldn't afford a VR headset; however back in 2004 when Half Life 2 dropped, there were people complaining that they can't run the game because they couldn't afford a better PC. The Half Life brand really transcends all others due to the fact that it's reserved for the best technology that Valve can produce-they're able to do this because they don't have a publisher or studio execs breathing down their neck 24/7.

Watching this a month after Elden Ring's launch, and this take will age well. Fromsoft can literally give us the barest of details, and they will deserve all the hype that fans generate. Sekiro was a strange one, despite the exclusivity I think Bloodborne is rated higher by fans normally, but it was still a fun outing, and the lessons they gained from all the previous games made Elden Ring the monster of a title it is.

I feel pretty confident that Microsoft will use Bethesda's IP's responsibly. (If that's what they got out of the deal Idk)Maybe Microsoft will have better quality control and actually ship titles like Fallout or Elder Scrolls with less bugs and better game play. Even though Microsofts games as of late have been really...disappointing (cough cough Halo and Gears of War) There is always the possibility they will pull themselves out of video game hell and make something actually decent for once. And uh they need to stop putting multiplayer boxes in Halo that shit ain't cool.

But... BUUUUUT. Skyward Sword needs some reworking to work on the Switch, it might end up being the definitive version for a Zelda title many Zelda fans haven't played. Besides that they don't exploit the title , write something on the box that grabs attention but selling something completely different that is subpar to the other titles qualities or expectations customers have. Yes, they make some spin offs like that weird rail shooter Zelda? But you know what you are into and they aren't treated as main line titles, just experiments. Now 3D Allstars... Damn That is some dodgy business practice and I absolutely hate Nintendo for that stubborn stupidity. But in the end, I remember the release of the original Allstars. The same stuff has been said and in a way it has been a timed exclusive itself with limited cartridges. People said, it's just a rehash from the games we all own already, nice move Nintendo. But now? Some of these titles are the definitive versions, super mario 3 looks and plays fantastic on the SNES. I just wish they went the extra mile touching up Mario 64 man. That would've done the speedrunning community a big favor as consoles and periphery are getting rarer and rarer in good conditions. (Oh that, and the fact they used the patched Japanese version, that hurt the speedrunning community a bit as well)
Your thoughts are very on point. Microsoft has been very consumer friendly lately, but I hope more people realize that Microsoft is not upholding exclusives like the gold standard they should be (microtransactions in Halo Infinite is absolute heresy) and reminds them what exclusives are supposed to be. They did delay Halo Infinite, so here's hoping they will fix some things as Bethesda did with Doom Eternal. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Maybe Microsoft will understand just in time that quality content is as important as a good customer service. If it happens, it won't be on the current generation of consoles. And in the worst case scenario, Microsoft will make Bethesda into the new Rare. I hope I'm wrong. Because this acquisition has the potential to be the beginning of great things... or not. Who knows. This whole time you were building up Sega relied a nostalgia and that that bit them in the butt. Microsoft seems to be at a similar crossroads. They're trying real hard to hold on to their old fans with nostalgia. Halo, gears, fable, all these old titles but nothing new or innovative. Microsoft right now is following in the footsteps of Sega. If they don't adapt and create something good and new, then they're only other option is to keep buying franchises. Xbox did horribly until the games pass happened and they cornered the frugal market. But this gen will truly showcase if microsoft can complete with prestige, or be complacent with nostalgia.

@@DJPeachCobbler bit late to the party but I can't see Microsoft making bethesda's IPs exclusive. Hell, they bought out Mojang for 2.5 billion for those sweet minecraft rights, and yet they still kept the Java version up and supported AND made a PS4 version despite being a Microsoft IP. Honestly the only way is up with bethesda being under Microsoft's watch. Sure microsoft are a megacorporation with lots of investors to please but at the same time, especially in recent years, they have not been nearly as willing to fuck over consumers and also push out extremely early betas of games out as finished products as bethesda softworks has been. No it will under no circumstances be the best possible outcome, but the net outcome will still surely be better than the alternative.
@@Rajoovi1 Let's keep in mind that Microsoft bought all of Bethesda for a 1/10 of the net worth of the entirety of Sony (including TVs, computers, cameras, consoles, movies, all of it). Microsoft's net worth, on the other hand, is almost 13x that of Sony. They could buy half of Sony (again, the entire conglomerate, not just the tiny gaming section) with just their annual profits. Sony is a peon to Microsoft. The only reason it's a 'fair fight' right now is because Sony knows the game better. But with the advent of the Surface tablets all those years ago, Microsoft has long since been getting a hold on the idea of brand reputation and how best to manage it.
Microsoft have learned a few lessons over the years. Remember when they bought minrcraft? I really hope they will be more hands on with bethesda then minecraft. Minecraft doesn't need any corporate touch. Bethesda does since they lost everything due to 76

Wow, rewatching this really made me realise how long you've come. You're almost at half a million subs. Way to go! I really enjoy watching your videos.
The way Peach structures his videos is amazing. He lays out some ideas in the beginning of the video that don't seem to have any connection to the central argument he's trying to make. Then, after he's explained his main argument thoroughly, he calls back to those ideas he laid out in the beginning and suddenly they make so much sense. Like in this video, he talked about people being excited about Elden Ring and I went: "Ok, why are those people so excited? And why is he talking about this?" Then he goes on to explain why the reputation of a game studio matters and at the end of the video, he brings up Elden Ring again and now it all makes sense. He could have only mentioned Elden Ring as an example at the end of the video without prior introduction and that would have been fine. However, by introducing the idea early and calling back to it in the end, it gives you an 'Ohhh!' moment which makes his videos so much more interesting to watch. He does that sort of call-back in almost every video of his, and it's a phenomenal video structuring tool. Once you know and recognize that pattern, his videos are even more fun to watch.

On a more serious note, Microsoft has a bad history with what you describe here. They have continually pressured developers to rush games for holiday releases, I believe Sonic 06 was one such game. When they acquired Ninja Theory they claimed they would allow the team to work on "whatever they wanted" then very shortly after they released "yet another battle royale game." (Yes I forgot the name)

Once you get past I think level 10 is like you have to grind to level 10 which doesn't take long like a few hours, and that's not a good thing I think the assumption is that you're wrapped up in the story where everything to be all together when they released it cuz once you get past 10 like the bullet sponge should start going away and you start all the options start opening up, but you can fuck yourself on your perks but the game's not that hard so you can't fuck yourself that hard you can just fuck yourself out of the fun you have if you were smart...
any game that lets me just replace segments over and over again to come up with different cool ways to solve the kill puzzle, especially when you have the hostages cuz well the enemy AI is is actually not bad when the scripting doesn't break the civilian AI is it's it's and I turned around they're gone it's okay... Lol wish that worked that way with the hostages, they're always the ones that never do that... But as far as the enemy I I goes I'm happy with it, I haven't sat down and done an analysis of it.. but the design is solid it's just the scripting executions that are buggy which makes sense given how much scripting goes into doing something like that and then there's the game scripting on top of that and then their CD project red's method of scripting which is it has a lot of scripting it's it's very long and integrated and you know I bet that served them really well with Witcher 3 on a kind of how much was context context context i e I go here this happens this happens this happens and you have a very small amount of player control that would initiate that, I mean fucking still more than Skyrim so fuck you Bethesda... But with a shooter especially a shooter that is trying to middle ground between having actual buttons to do things and being on a console.. like just from what I've gathered I understand why the scripting breaks down a lot, and it really doesn't break down that much when you break when you look at like open world situations before 2015 LOL like Skyrim was utterly completely script broken at every point at some point like there is no end to the script breakdowns and they're not even good scripts LOL and the assets like there's there's like what animation limitations that show up in front of you,
Granted they show up in cyberpunk because for some reason they decided to do an extraordinary high asset game on those old incredibly slow hard drives in the consoles from a while ago.. and and it's and it's got a streaming focus too, so it's just culling everything... And as we know it often culls too far... Fortunately it seems like the linkage between this breakdown because everything is so temporary doesn't like follow you with some rare exceptions so I reload will fix it etc and if you can just ignore it or if it doesn't cause a problem like the CV AI doing something weird it's not going to cause a chain reaction like 99% of Bethesda script errors or the stalker script errors... although thoseI really understand because the base design for x-ray was to be a large environment ecosystem to begin with so it would be probably more interconnected they also did a lot of translations to like regular language command that's why you were able to go in and change pretty much every parameter you wanted for the gunplay and ballistics and whatnot.. I'm not sure if that was the development process for them, which is what Bethesda does with my understanding is correct.. or if they did that in anticipation for the modding or if that was for selling the xraya engine which was the original goal as a like a Sim engine like I think they had they wanted to do some military stuff they might have already done it I can't remember exactly.. there was a very long time when they didn't know what to do with it, and they had a really cool game in the pipeline that they shifted from and turned into stalker and I feel like I feel like we missed out by not getting to that.
Either way, cyberpunk requires you to put some time into it and it shouldn't.. once you get there you get to that level where you're like you should have been able to get two very quickly at the beginning if they had been able to formulate how the systems were going to work and have to teach them, I'm assuming at this point it would have also not even considered having the dumbass phone call bullshit.. I'm assuming that all those calls were dropped in at the last second when they realized that they were shipping a game, like wait what we're shipping when next month what the fuck?
I just hope that they actually do change these things instead of sticking with them, we're never going to hear about it though because the backlash was so hardcore on their transparency and sadly their PR they've been burned both ways now by it, and then they got hacked so yeah proper gang bang gone wrong and we're probably not going to know anything about anything until it happens, which is sad cuz it was really cool how open they were with the development processes but they made their bed and they fucked it up, CD project had learned a lot of very important lessons early on and if they had just stuck to that even they're fucked up management cycle and structure which was well beyond the actual skill sets for the original employees but that I kind of understand what you do fire them, they're the people that have been there from the start.. yeah I'm going to stoppeople either want to hear it or don't care or don't etc..
I just, people say the combat's bad it's not it's at least not to me, and I have very high standards.. but it's definitely not designed in any way other than that it's designed in every way, and also in the RPG way so when you get to a point where you rpged in the modern term of do things and experience and shit, to a certain extent then you can get these options where normally they would be automated for a crpg but in this case they give you the ability to do different things and combine different things and, then it's good luck which is the way it should be as far as I'm concerned in any shooter...
also the HUD I had to remove the HUD about a couple hours into it fortunately I was not alone I was not nearly as in good company as I thought I would be apparently there's only a few of us but some good people did do a HUD modifications and now I have a crosshair, and very small objective markers that just showed distance in very small type so you really sometimes you got to really scan to see em it's wonderful.
Downside is no health bar upside is I die in three hits anyways so by the time the red hits, that's still in so the low health screen effect shows up time to spam the heel thing, I'd feel worse about that if the gameplay didn't function with it and still provide a challenge given that you die in like three hits still but that's just cuz I never body up, or give a fuck about buying up....
You don't need body if they can't hit you, and they can't hit you if you shoot them first and then hit them first, or hit the first one grab them break their neck or no actually shoot the other guy then bitch slap his buddy break his neck and and continue from there but that's one of my favorites ever since riddick that's been one of my things you get the Richard b seal of approval if you have a game where you can do that specific amount level of things, and you get the Richard b seal of approval silver edition if you can do it in freeform which you can in this game and in crisis and in riddick and in Wolfenstein I think as well machine star breeze developed...

I like to compare Valve and Nintendo. Both companies have the balls to do whatever they want and their reputation allows that to happen. Unlike Nintendo, Valve has even bigger balls to tell you "I can do whatever the hell I want and you don't know what you want." When Half Life: Alyx was announced, so many people were complaining that they couldn't play this because they couldn't afford a VR headset; however back in 2004 when Half Life 2 dropped, there were people complaining that they can't run the game because they couldn't afford a better PC. The Half Life brand really transcends all others due to the fact that it's reserved for the best technology that Valve can produce-they're able to do this because they don't have a publisher or studio execs breathing down their neck 24/7.

Watching this a month after Elden Ring's launch, and this take will age well. Fromsoft can literally give us the barest of details, and they will deserve all the hype that fans generate. Sekiro was a strange one, despite the exclusivity I think Bloodborne is rated higher by fans normally, but it was still a fun outing, and the lessons they gained from all the previous games made Elden Ring the monster of a title it is.

Your thoughts are very on point. Microsoft has been very consumer friendly lately, but I hope more people realize that Microsoft is not upholding exclusives like the gold standard they should be (microtransactions in Halo Infinite is absolute heresy) and reminds them what exclusives are supposed to be. They did delay Halo Infinite, so here's hoping they will fix some things as Bethesda did with Doom Eternal.

Maybe Microsoft will understand just in time that quality content is as important as a good customer service. If it happens, it won't be on the current generation of consoles. And in the worst case scenario, Microsoft will make Bethesda into the new Rare. I hope I'm wrong. Because this acquisition has the potential to be the beginning of great things... or not. Who knows. We shall see.

This whole time you were building up Sega relied a nostalgia and that that bit them in the butt. Microsoft seems to be at a similar crossroads. They're trying real hard to hold on to their old fans with nostalgia. Halo, gears, fable, all these old titles but nothing new or innovative. Microsoft right now is following in the footsteps of Sega. If they don't adapt and create something good and new, then they're only other option is to keep buying franchises. Xbox did horribly until the games pass happened and they cornered the frugal market. But this gen will truly showcase if microsoft can complete with prestige, or be complacent with nostalgia.

@@DJPeachCobbler bit late to the party but I can't see Microsoft making bethesda's IPs exclusive. Hell, they bought out Mojang for 2.5 billion for those sweet minecraft rights, and yet they still kept the Java version up and supported AND made a PS4 version despite being a Microsoft IP. Honestly the only way is up with bethesda being under Microsoft's watch. Sure microsoft are a megacorporation with lots of investors to please but at the same time, especially in recent years, they have not been nearly as willing to fuck over consumers and also push out extremely early betas of games out as finished products as bethesda softworks has been. No it will under no circumstances be the best possible outcome, but the net outcome will still surely be better than the alternative.
@@Rajoovi1 Let's keep in mind that Microsoft bought all of Bethesda for a 1/10 of the net worth of the entirety of Sony (including TVs, computers, cameras, consoles, movies, all of it). Microsoft's net worth, on the other hand, is almost 13x that of Sony. They could buy half of Sony (again, the entire conglomerate, not just the tiny gaming section) with just their annual profits.
Sony is a peon to Microsoft. The only reason it's a 'fair fight' right now is because Sony knows the game better. But with the advent of the Surface tablets all those years ago, Microsoft has long since been getting a hold on the idea of brand reputation and how best to manage it.
Microsoft have learned a few lessons over the years. Remember when they bought minrcraft? I really hope they will be more hands on with bethesda then minecraft. Minecraft doesn't need any corporate touch. Bethesda does since they lost everything due to 76

The way Peach structures his videos is amazing. He lays out some ideas in the beginning of the video that don't seem to have any connection to the central argument he's trying to make. Then, after he's explained his main argument thoroughly, he calls back to those ideas he laid out in the beginning and suddenly they make so much sense.
Like in this video, he talked about people being excited about Elden Ring and I went: "Ok, why are those people so excited? And why is he talking about this?" Then he goes on to explain why the reputation of a game studio matters and at the end of the video, he brings up Elden Ring again and now it all makes sense.
He could have only mentioned Elden Ring as an example at the end of the video without prior introduction and that would have been fine. However, by introducing the idea early and calling back to it in the end, it gives you an 'Ohhh!' moment which makes his videos so much more interesting to watch. He does that sort of call-back in almost every video of his, and it's a phenomenal video structuring tool. Once you know and recognize that pattern, his videos are even more fun to watch.

On a more serious note, Microsoft has a bad history with what you describe here. They have continually pressured developers to rush games for holiday releases, I believe Sonic 06 was one such game. When they acquired Ninja Theory they claimed they would allow the team to work on "whatever they wanted" then very shortly after they released "yet another battle royale game." (Yes I forgot the name)
