Thank you for making this video it saved me $$$ and saved tons of time. I had attempted to pull the alternator fuse out and ruined it. The guy at the Toyota dealer said he’d seen many in worse shape. Seems like they would have put a note in the fuse diagram that it is locked in from the bottom.
I had this problem. Blown 120 AMP fusible link on my 2005 Toyota Avalon . Made a jumper cable with a 10 gauge cable and a 120 amp fusible linK in it. Connect one end to the positive battery terminal and the other end to the positive terminal in the fuse box (under the little cover with a + on it). Make sure you leave all the original positive cables connected to the battery This bypasses the blown fuse and supplies a new fused link the the rest of the fuses. Everything works and you don't have to tear the fuse box apart to get to the blown fusible link. All circuits are protected as before. You do have to cut a small hoe in the fuse box cover to allow for the new jumper wire. This will save you about 5 hours work.
Hey I think I’m having this problem with my 2015 Toyota Avalon I just replaced alternator and in the process I think I blew the fuse because I didn’t disconnect the battery first and then the grounded the negative touching the socket to some metal. I was going to try to go with what you said because I don’t have the time or patience to try to takeoff the ECU and the whole fuse box and all that BS horrible design flaw but I don’t have any cover with a A+ on it only thing I can see that connect to is the point where the fuse was bolted to on top but I just called and asked the mechanic for their opinion and they said that it would just be a temporary fix and that eventually the wire or fuse burn out or that it would cause other electrical issues. How good did the fix really work for you should I do it??
Thank you mate for the video, I still have the Same issue, I just put new brushes on the alternator, but still got no charge, I suspect the the volt regulator, how did you solve your alternator issue please?
It could be the V regulator, but there are diodes that can go bad also. I took mine in to a place that specializes in alt rebuilds, and had them go through it. They replace all the diodes, regulator, brushes and bearings for $120.......or you could try to find one on ebay or rock auto
Did you fix it yet? I'm looking at checking the connections at the fuse box to fix mine. My battery light will come on with a diagnostic test, but never any other time.
You would have to buy the fuse from Toyota if it was blown. It probably will not be the fuse unless someone jumped the battery and hooked up the jumper cables backwards.

Thanks mate you saved me a lot of time as i was pulling at that fuse for 10 minutes before finding this.
Yep....these youtube videos can save a lot of time if you can just find the right one!
Thanks for your detailed video. I was able to replace mine using your detailed instructions.
Thank you so much!

Did this cause all the electrical dashboard, breaks, power windows and all not to work?
Mine didn't blow, but yes there would be no power to anything electrical
So did it work after changing the alternator fuse ?
It turned out not to be the fuse. The alternator was bad.
What tabs did you pull to get the 2 long fuses out. After you do everything else
how did you get the cover off ,
I can't tell you more than what is in the video...too long ago
Hello brother i have 2008 avalon and my battery light is missing from dashboard.any advise

Where do you get the fuse from?

MRM that's whay happened
I can see on the side of the fuse the first link inside it is burnt
What the hell does the fuse even do really?
The fuse is for safety, to keep the wires from melting or catching on fire if there is a short circuit.
