Gorgeous! I still hope to have a garden half as great as yours. Thanks for showing us what all is doable with the Greenstalks!!

I didn't know about making capers from nasturtiums! Can you show us that or put a recipe in a description box? I LOVE capers! Also have you thought about throwing a sheet or some kind of garden cloth - the kind you use to keep out bugs - over the Greenstalks while the construction people are working? The sun should still be able penetrate the cloth. Also, does the construction stuff come off if you hose the plants off?

It’s going to be my first time trying to make them! I was going to ferment them but I think now I’m just going to try this recipe: www.thespruceeats.com/nasturtium-capers-1403021
I have tried putting the insect cover on the planters (but I only have one) and the dust still got in. I have frost cloth but it’s way too hot to use them. I wash them off daily and yes, the dust seems to come off but who knows if it gets everything out… the particles are minuscule

@@MarisGardenandKitchen Thank you for the recipe. As for the dust, I should have known you would already tried everything.

I would love to see how you process or preserve your harvest! I'm new at gardening and learning how to deal with abundance.

Have you been spraying your kale with BT spray to keep the cabbage worms off? Your kale looks so great, mine always gets eaten a bit around this time! Also where did you get your lacinato kale seeds from? My lacinato kale seeds I have don't always come out looking like real lacinato kale so i need some new ones!

No! I have never used BT actually. I have just been feeding them with molasses every 10 days or so. It’s the first time that I don’t have cabbage worms in my garden! I think that’s because the plants are healthier this year :)
