What I love of Florez is that although he has a precise type of voice (ideal for F. du Reg. and similar), it never attempts to modify nor force his timbre. He might not be Corelli or Bergonzi, but he surely is the only one on the international scene with respect for the music he sings and his authors...exactly like the greatest I named before. Thank you Florez for this different but incredibly valuable performance...

It always take a second for me to get used to the brightness and extremely forward sound he creates. Sort of like a young Alfreso Kraus. But once I forget the darker, more italianate covered sounds, like Pavarotti or Bergonzi, I enjoy his singing. It's just very particular.

In due tre punti, Florez non resiste a fare degli abbellimenti che non sono appropriati!! Magnifici quando interpreta Lindoro o altri ruoli da amante. Da italiano ti posso dire che sbaglia la pronuncia poche volte, e si capiscono tutte le parole, anche se un italiano sente che a cantare non e’ un italiano.
He's a remarkable musician and great actor. He sang it with the voice that he has. I just prefer a more lyrical tenor for this role, like Fabiano or Beczala.

Nahh, just high larynx. He has a great voice, but with a high larynx you only lose squillo, volume and beauty.

Flores is the epitome of lyric voice. If you prefer Fabiano and Beczala, you prefer a stronger voice, more spinto.
