One Ok Rock is a band that suitable for all ages. Their song is not too hard to listen, neither too soft. And for me, the lyrics is the important point, because they're becoming so uplifting on their lyrics since 2017.

Listening to them is always a different experience. They write their own songs and arrangements. They are huge on motivational lyrics. Their music has a very positive outlook in life. They are the most humble and honest band I've had the honor of seeing them live. They are that good live. I'll second your patreon Doug and sugest "We Are" from the tour he mentioned. I discovered them recentely and I really enjoy watching all their live stuff on youtube, official videos and fancams. They're a really good band with an increadible singer and great crowd interaction. They also have live acoustic/jam versions of some of their songs that I would 100% recommend.
If you enjoy the song, there is also an 18 Fes version, with a crowd of young people singing along that is goosebump worthy, if you are interested. According to comments I read this particular song was made for the 18 year old festival, but as I'm not sure how accurate that is ill leave that info for more knowledgeable fans of the band. ☺

Definitely go see them in concert next time they're near you. The frontman Taka is so charismatic and has an incredible voice. "We are" at Ambitions Japan Dome Tour is a very good song for people just getting into them. If you want something a little more rock-y, you can try "The Beginning" at Eye of the Storm Japan Tour, "Mighty Long Fall" at 35xxxv Japan Tour, or "Deeper Deeper" at Yokohama Stadium. You should check their most popular song "The Beginning" live at Yokohama stadium Mighty Long Fall tour. Their energy is on a whole other level. The crowd interaction is awesome. Taka's crowd control is insane. ONE OK ROCK is the only band that sounds better live than in the studio. The front man, Taka, is one of the most incredible vocalists around. Some of his harsh vocals are eerily similar to Chester Bennington. They were supposed to go on tour with Linkin Park before Chester died. He covered Adele's Hello in the same key. A lot of people like his version more than the original.

In 2018 at the summer Sonic fest Mike performed it with them. If you check out the song Take What you want live ambitions Japan Dome Tour 2018 he has 30 seconds of silence for Chester. Taka was influenced the most by Chester. It's crazy how much he actually sounds like him. Some of their heavier songs that are worth checking out is Deeper Deeper live at Yokohama stadium Mighty Long Fall tour, One by One live at Saitama super arena 35xxxv tour, and Mighty Long Fall live at Nagisaen, which is easily one of their most energetic songs. The way Taka commands a crowd is 55k is insane. Sadly the video has a watermark. If that's a problem there is a good video that has clips from other shows.

OOR is one of just a few bands from Japan that I can listen to anytime. Japan has so many great musicians, but very technical. I like bands that get to my feels. Mind you, I'm not saying that I have heard most J rock bands, maybe a dozen.

@@ashlenamusic that said, their discography is SO versatile. Their older work was a lot more punk/nu-grunge, and the newer stuff ranges widely from alternative to rock. The combination of an insanely versatile voice, with a non-conventional drum and bass backbone, and a steady guitar, makes them stand out for me. Sometimes emo-punk-rock follows a very cookie cutter sound.

Disagree, if she wants to hear more heavier stuff, Deeper Deeper has the most screams of any OOR song, and its a solid performance the Yokohama version.

A little disappointed in this band: been hearing so much about them I thought they must be the next Beatles or something. Pretty good, though gotta say. They have a ton of hard rock songs that are very energetic. Some songs worth checking out is The beginning live at Yokohama stadium Mighty Long Fall tour, One by One 35xxxv tour live at Saitama super arena, and Mighty Long Fall live at Nagisaen. The video may have a watermark but it's worth it, that concert has one of the most epic crowds.

@@ashlenamusic that said, their discography is SO versatile. Their older work was a lot more punk/nu-grunge, and the newer stuff ranges widely from alternative to rock.
The combination of an insanely versatile voice, with a non-conventional drum and bass backbone, and a steady guitar, makes them stand out for me. Sometimes emo-punk-rock follows a very cookie cutter sound.

Other great arena rock songs include "We Are" as you've mentioned, "Take What You Want," "I Was King," and "Wasted Nights." For heavier songs, I'd recommend "Mighty Long Fall" (at Yokohama Stadium, 2014: ruclips.net/video/i7seozLvbHw/видео.html) and "The Beginning" (Eye of the Storm tour, 2020: ruclips.net/video/h1PN7LEH2Vs/видео.html). Disagree, if she wants to hear more heavier stuff, Deeper Deeper has the most screams of any OOR song, and its a solid performance the Yokohama version.
@@triplej8666 have you seen mighty long fall at Nagisaen 2016? If not it's certainly worth it. His screams at the end are awesome, but what makes the performance even better is how he commands the crowd.
A little disappointed in this band: been hearing so much about them I thought they must be the next Beatles or something. Pretty good, though gotta say. Oh yeah, this was my first time hearing( I usaully wait for your reactions now Ash: love your channel) I don't thhink they're gonna be the next Villareal sisters, though. Sorry, I have trouble commenting on anything without mentioning the Warning ( maybe a legit medical condition: villarealmania). They have a ton of hard rock songs that are very energetic. Some songs worth checking out is The beginning live at Yokohama stadium Mighty Long Fall tour, One by One 35xxxv tour live at Saitama super arena, and Mighty Long Fall live at Nagisaen. The video may have a watermark but it's worth it, that concert has one of the most epic crowds.

@@Fatalistic_Viking I'm in. I was just having a crappy night made even worse by heavy drinking so nothing was going to impress.Checked out the Beginning (sounded like a good place to start) and ok. Very interesting. Also the first rock singer I've come across who I can understand completely without subtitles. For sure looking forward to more, but I'm gonna wait Ashlena's reactions.
