Thank you. I just finished replacing my alternator following your video. Other than how hard it was get it out, you made this really easy. Great job and thank you.
Not sure if you saw the video that Lift Arc Studios made (titled "Delivering the Benches should be EASY right? (Pt. 2)") but he gives you a shout out as he had to make repairs on the road and used this video to get him back home. He was really grateful and mentions you around 15.23 time spot. Having a channel and sharing your passion that helps people instead of tearing them down (like many on YT) is totally cool! Kudos to you! : )
Good stuff my man, had trouble with my alternator about to change it almost thought I had to pull the radiator to get that out of my 06 Titan which I had just recently replaced😬 wasn't looking forward to that but now that I see you can get it out without taking it out, I feel a lot better watching your video😁thank you for posting my friend
Aaron, Thank you for posting this. Is it easier to pull the alternator from the top rather than removing the front passenger tire and wheel well cover and pulling it from the side? Please keep the Titan content coming. It has been a huge help for me.
Thanks for the support! Yes. It’s way easyer from the top. Specially on 04-07 trucks. You can pull from the bottom but you will need to remove the fan shroud up 4 inches, so I don’t perfer that. It’s tight on 08+ trucks due to the vvt solenoid in the way but it can be done.
Great Video. The only problem is that top bolt, 14mm, can be seized in there like you wouldn't believe. I started an 05 Armada alternator replacement job yesterday and couldn't finish because of that top bolt. When a 1/2 long ratchet, in the hands of a 230 lb man, can barely move it, it is a bad situation. I told him to soak it for a few days. if it breaks, now we are talking bracket and alternator removal for major $$$. That could be a major hurdle that some might encounter.
@@shawnthewizardkelly7083 I will not sugarcoat this, your ass is in trouble. I did eventually finish the job, but it involved going through the wheel well on the passenger side, a Sawzall with several diablo blades and battery packs. It took hours, but once free, the job is quick. It will be tough because you can only get the tip of the blade in that small area so try and get them with a tapered end. good luck. I charge so much to do those now that it sends customers away and I am quite happy it does.
Thank the Lord I found this channel. 😂. I have a 2009 Nissan Titan Pro King cab. I work in West Texas and need to replace the suspension and everything else your videos shows. If I was to do this myself which videos should I watch in order? Please and thank you. Love the channel.
My 06 armada has been sitting in my garage for a few months now because I haven't been able to break lose that 14 millimeter bolt. I'm contemplating buying a big compressor and a compact, powerful air ratchet.
You ALWAYS remove the NEGATIVE terminal first. That is because if you bump your wrench on ground while you're removing the terminal you don't cause an arc.
I replaced two alternators in one year.going on a third. The second was due to the ground not being connected.Any advice as to what is causing me to burn through alternators?
Hi I watched your video I got the alternator off im having a hard time trying to line up that top long bolt to go in I gave up and gonna to try again tomorrow is there a certain way the past has to go back on once again thanks for the video
Hi bro , what's up .love your videos... I own a 2004 qx56 ,so most of titan videos works for me. So I am replacing my alternator with a higher output 370amp .I was told its direct replacement. But I was told that ,I wont be getting the 3rd MOUNTING EAR. What is the 3rd mounting ear? And I was told I will be getting a bushing with it . And idea on what they taking about ? Thanks
Couldn’t get the 14mm bolt out the top that you did roughrly at 5 mins. Ended up snapping the bolt. Trying to drill through it now on my 06 Nissan titan. Any help or recommendations from anyone. Need the truck in 8 hours to take my gf to work.
@@Mobile-mechanicNM I ended up towing it to a shop last night and they’ve had it for 10 hours today since they’ve been open this morning. They said they replaced the alternator but not it won’t start. I’m having terrible luck.
I realize manufacturers are not all perfect, but WTF. Nissan, put your truck Alternator on top off the engine block, just like the traditional big three.. My kids, used 08 Titan has been more reliable than my new 18 Ram 5.7 hemi, but I can do the basics on the hemi, this Alternator on the Titan...is a learning curve I don't want..
that beats the hell out of removing the fan shroud. Great video thank you
Dude I love these videos knock on wood I have never put my Titan in the shop I just do all my repairs myself
FYI, its possible to squeeze it out from the bottom, so you don't need to move the power steering and all. Just replaced mine on my 04 Armada.
maybe the 1 he was removing was top exit due to it being a 4x4? I like your idea better LOL
Thank you. I just finished replacing my alternator following your video. Other than how hard it was get it out, you made this really easy. Great job and thank you.
Thank you so much. This video saved my ass in the parking lot of an AutoZone in El Centro California on a 110° August day.
Thank you for a great vid of this alternator chore. I was struck by how even your disposition is in the narration, I wanna be like that. Great vid.
As always, your videos are ridiculous easy to understand and follow!!

Thanks for taking the time to do this. It may come in handy for me on my 08 Titan.

Yep , the shop will change my alternator out for sure
I like that neutral drop trick you do with the electric ratchet to get the bolts broke free. I do it too. Hehe
Just watched your video had more success dropping the alternator from the bottom from the top definitely help me out

My bolt broke. I’m trying to drill but idk I’m running out of ideas

The mechanic I thrust 👌🙏thank u Aaron I've learned a lot with ur videos
You go ahead and “thrust” him alright lol

Be careful not to break the bolt or you in for a fun day. I'm dealing with that exact same thing.
how did that end up working out for you?
I broke the bolt on my 06 titan. What do I do now
@@shawnthewizardkelly7083 well you call a mobile mechanic to get it out for you

Going to upgrade my alternator due to my audio system.
Thanks...
What alternator did you use? I need one for mine too
I just fix my alternator thanx to you I appreciate it but my batter still not charging and ideas
Nice vid! Can you show how to add elocker on 2wd 04 titan?
Thanks for sharing very helpful
Imma try this on the Nissan armada

When I saw the alternator way down there I thought it was impossible to remove
Nice video Aaron!!
U the bomb elly!
just did mine comes out the bottom easier no taking tensioner off no moving powersterring fluid holder mind over matter
Im going to try it this way....this week......no need to remove "fan shroud" or move it up a couple of inches like Ive read??
I replaced two alternators in one year.going on a third. The second was due to the ground not being connected.Any advice as to what is causing me to burn through alternators?
Did you have trouble aligning the alternator in the proper position with the little piece of metal for the bolt threads? It is really kicking my butt.
Im having trouble getting the top 14mm bolt out. It's sliding back and fourth but won't come out
Hi I watched your video I got the alternator off im having a hard time trying to line up that top long bolt to go in I gave up and gonna to try again tomorrow is there a certain way the past has to go back on once again thanks for the video
Not sure if my alternator is in a weird position, but I cannot fit a ratchet onto the main terminal bolt.
As always , thank you for the video!
Great quality video as always keep em up man. Do you have plans on showing a lower control arm replacement?
My 2006 definitely has a factory ground strap
What we need to do is disconnect the negative or positive, we are gonna go with positive.....then disconnects the negative 😂
I thought I was wrong all this time in calling the black negative. Thank you!

I know this is a bit of an older video so you might not respond but any idea where all the oil build up is coming from? I noticed it on my truck.
Check the high pressure hoses from the power steering pump. Happened to my 05 QX56.
You did the long way it way easier from the bottom
I ordered this alternator and it came 2 pin and my old alternator is 3 pin ? Will it work ?
I must say the Titan / Armada are like the easiest cars to work on.
My 05 titan does have the ground.
Can the alternator come out the bottom?
Can a bad alternator make my 2008 titan have no throttle response
It did mine. Would throttle at idle in park. As soon as I started driving, voltage would start dropping off and truck eventually died.
Yes
Yep just happen to mine
Would this be almost the same as the 04 nissian armada?
Yes it would

How many ampere generates?
130 stock alternator
(2:43) "I like to go ahead and just go with the positive..." then proceeds to disconnect the negative first. 🤦🏾
All I learned from changing my alternator is that engineers are assholes.
