  • in this video I highlight my 72 volt LifePo4 lithium battery pack upgrade That will go into one of two 2002 Chrysler Gem cars...
This DIY upgrade saved me at least five or $600 vs the cost of purchasing dual or two 36v chins Chinese lithium packs..
as I haven't found any affordable or less expensive 72 volt packs or combo batteries online as of the date of this video which is January 22 2024
DIY lithium Conversion cost is around $1600 including everything..
And loosing the weight of more than 4 of the big lead acid batteries...
Because the 100 amp hour pack holds the 72v high voltage throughout the day and also allows me to discharge down to 10% battery state of charge, that means I can expect to get twice the range as the lead acid bats did..
Keeping the weight over the front end insures good traction for the front wheel drive and allowing the front shocks to function as they should...
If you have any questions, suggestions, thoughts, ideas or especially safety concerns that I may have not considered, please feel free to comment..
I will be posting more videos as this project moves forward so if you wish to be notified when a new video is shared feel free to follow like subscribe...
    I enjoy sharing these projects..
    Thanks for watching

I had been planning to put the BMS on the side because their isn't any extra room ontop, due to the hood barely closes on this box as it is...
But I had failed to realize that with a lift kit installed, the hood stays with the body and the frame drops 4 to 6 inches lower , so I actually do have the room to put the custom BMS box and main terminal connectors ontop after I complete my 6" lift kit... (Planning on 26" tires )
I have 2 of these cars,, stay tuned for more videos . Subscribe 😮

Howdy there! About to do the same conversion with the same components, how's it working, anything you learned or would do differently? Thanks!
