I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music was my coping mechanism from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and it's stuck by me ever since. When I made this RUclips name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so... OG + KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

Same. This is my favourite as well. It's so refreshing and different and her beautiful voice just melts me. Plus, the MV and her visuals themselves are gorgeous and the way the song sounded too, so whimsical and fantasy-like.

I've always thought of this song as the connection and vulnerability between the 'boy' and 'girl' within Haseul (or everyone). When she says 'the girl is the boy's wish' it feels like how the 'boy' side of Haseul longs to be more vulnerable...

Your take on the MV is kinda the same as my take :)
there’s two haseuls the “colourful haseul” is a girl
and the “white feather/shorthair haseul” is a boy
who is also represented as a bird
I think the boy/girl theme + the lyrics “a girl is the boy’s girl” is a symbolism that Haseul is not being herself or someone else is deciding on how she lives her life or that the society is limiting a girl’s life for being just a boy’s girl.
But now that she sling-shotted the white bird/boy, she is now free from her other self or from other people dictating her life.
Its kinda weird though cause bird’s represent freedom but she K word the bird here 😅 so it made me think if she really free herself 🤔
I always interpretated it as Haseul thinking she was freeing herself by killing her other half, but realising she made a mistake as soon as she did it. After she shot boy Haseul she seems surprised to discover the little bird and she looks sad and remorseful, as if she only realised the full consequences of her actions after it was already too late.
They chose the blond wig because it was "boyish" (her nickname at that time was "boyseul"). I think in the wig she is representing the guy that she is chasing after. I don't think she sees him the way that he is. I think she puts him on a pedestal and sees him the way that she wants him to be, the guy who can complete her. Obviously, things don't go well, but it never does when someone tries to "capture" someone else. And the way that she's dropping all of those diamonds, she's so focused on him to appreciate the blessings already in her life...

I always thought of this video like the two outfits were different parts of the same person, with the control being passed between the two, but at least one of them being something they don't want to be.
One thing that always catch my attention on this MV is that the last word is said by bird/boy haseul, like even with haseul trying to shoot this part of her it's still the one that wins.

To me, the trippy part of the Let Me In mv is that when Haseul is dressed in the feathers and short blonde wig she's supposed to be seen as a boy. (It doesn't work.)
