I got saved 40 years ago in a jail cell in New Jersey. I must confess I did not live for Christ for 40 years. I wandered in the wilderness like the children of Israel doing it my way and serving myself. Recently, I repented of my sins and began living for Christ. Really living for Him. I found Pastor David Guzik on Blue Letter Bible and then on RUclips and listen to him every day. I go to Crossroads Assembly of God church and stay in the word. I am growing in Christ especially from following the teachings of David Guzik. I am truly living for Christ. God delivered me from several addictions. All day every day I live for Christ.
Best Bible teacher and precher.
I always listen to his sermons, and i like his way to explain them in depth.

Thank you for this sermon, out of the Netherlands my reaction.
This sermon is really enjoying. I like it because we see that we need to point out the Lord Jesus in our life every day. It's also my prayer for every other believers that we understand that it is so necessary to know what the Bible tells us about what God wants us to do every day, to walk in faith, to know who the Lord is, to know what he wants from us, to do the things that he said through the apostles, especially where this sermon is about. Paul said, 'Follow me as I follow Christ.' It is so special to do that. There is nothing else better in this world to do than what's written in His Word, to forget everything that's around us, to seek the things from above, to do the things from above. Yes, it is possible. By belief in the Lord, and with His help, can we overcome the world. So Jesus said to us, 'You can do nothing without me.' And that is what we have to remember. It is not a must, but it is the desire that we want to follow Him. It is truly a desire. You can also read something about that desire in 2 Corinthians 5:14. "Verse 15 explains to us what we live for. Not for ourselves, but for Him."
It is not a must, but it is something you want. I want to follow Christ. I want to do the things that He wants me to do. It's something you desire because you've come to know the love of the Lord Jesus. And that's why you gladly do it.
I want to do were the Lord Jesus was praying for. John 17:23
Many blessings to all followers of Jesus Christ, those who genuinely desire to do what the Word of God asks of us

Hi, Pastor David. Thank you for a wonderful exegesis on the two scriptures you shared, would you be able to point me in thr direction of history books of when Paul wrote this Epistles and where he was?
Here is a short summary of the ideas about Paul's location when writing to the Philippians (in prison, most likely Roman prison, but possibly prison in Caesarea). Further written sources it points to are Charles Ellicott's commentaries on the Pauline Epistles and Jason C. Meyer.
