  • A close look at few of my Pygmy Drosera growing on a windowsill. Its autumn and they are starting to produce gemmae.

      Thanks so much. They look great at the moment with the sun low in the sky shining directly on them and not too hot. Hope you are having a great Spring up there in Ireland

    Beautiful Pygmy Droseras, could you tell me what are the little white stones are below your plants? I have some ones, but your plants over white stones looks great!

      Thank you:) I just used horticulture sand that I sieved and washed to remove smaller grains and any salts which could harm the plants. I guess they are silica sand?

      Drosera pygmea grows in New Zealand but its uncommon 2 of the forms I hrow are from the North Island the rest are from Australia most South West Australia

    what direction does this windowsill face? im wondering if id beable to grow d. scorpioides on a east facing windowsill

      Christopher L its north facing in new zealand. The sun is too high in the sky in the summer to shine directly on them though.

    how long does it take to go from gemmae to producing gemmae

      For me about 1 year so late autumn the following year.

      Yes I use pumice and perlite now
