Hi, I'm Emily. Life was pretty sweet-I had just gotten engaged to David, the love of my life. He proposed with a stunning ring that wasn’t just any piece of jewelry. It was a family heirloom passed down from my grandmother. That ring wasn’t just a symbol of our upcoming marriage.

Why do mom's always favor one child over the other child. Sometimes there is somethings that can't be fixed.

It’s not always the mother. I am one of eight children…5 girls, 3 boys. One night I was chatting with an older man who was sitting next to me at a bar and he mentioned where he worked; I told him that was where my father worked. When he asked me for his name, he looked shocked. He then he told me he had worked with my dad for more than 25 years and they were good friends. He followed up by saying “that man didn’t have any daughters…he had two boys!” I was surprised to learn that five daughters and one of his three sons did not exist in my father’s eyes. I could tell stories about the difference in the way we were treated at home, but I’d end up writing a novel!

Why weren’t the police called about the theft? The sister should have gone to jail.

Why did David give a ring to Emily that was her family heirloom?
Ring should be from his family, isn't it. Am I missing something here?

A ring is the symbol of an engagement or wedding. I received my engagement ring from my grandmother and never wore it until I got engaged. My niece will be wearing my mother’s ring ( her grandmother’s) when the time comes. My cousin has her grandmother’s ring. If there are family rings available, they carry more sentiment and emotional meaning than any bought ring could.

@@LadyDoc oh, is it? I didn't know about this, I thought that engagement ring is always brought by the groom. In our Hindu culture, during engagement, both girl and boy exchange ring brought by their respective families.

And that is desparate to pawn it,since pswn shops only give you a fraction of what something is worth.they don't give value for what they buy.

My mother use to tell me why do people give more attention to 1 child and she had 5 kids and I agreed with her and when I had kids I never favored one over the other

Sister is a thief plain and blunt she is a friend thief. Parents should stay out of this. They are bias and would forgive her. What if it was your sister can you forgive her so easy. No one is so desperate that they don't figure out something else. You should of called the police, report it and have her charged. The shoe on the other foot wouldn't she done it to you. And your parents rally for her. This is not like borrowing your favorite top, she knew what she's doing is wrong but feels it's family. She's wrong she needs to pay.

Sleeping bathing washing dishes need I go on? She took the ring so the consequences are her own to deal with! She knew what she was doing but showed no respect to a family heirloom! Disrespect all around 😢!

I'd like to know why Emily wasn't wearing her ring. Everyone I know always wear their engagement rings. They don't take them off. Also, two wrongs don't make a right. All Emily had to do was buy her ring her back. There was no need for her to do what she did to Sara. Emily's life was not ruined but Sara's was. That was wrong of Emily to do what she did. Just buy the ring and cut Sara out of her life. Costing Sara her job was wrong.
