Balckberry os 10 had even better ways to implement wallpapers. Also lockscrenn password of blackberry 10 OS is still better than android and ios aswell
I'd do it the other way, Color on the Lock Screen, and Black and White on the Home screen, so the Apps are more visible.
You can blur your wallpaper on the home screen also

Long press on the Home Screen until apps start vibrating then tap the plus button in the top right.
3D Touch doesn’t exist anymore btw, and you can just hold on Notification Centre rather than faffing about in settings

If you're phone has a passcode, it won't slide in that way. Sliding it up will only bring you to "enter passcode" screen.
You can't 3D touch since that isn't available on any iphone later than Xs, is just long press, but yes, it looks cool
I wonder if you can do the opposite: black and white on the regular home screen
and the full color mode on the screen when you open it
Just hit edit on the photo and change it black and white and save as new photo
