As info, this was never used by the French. The tanks fought with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) as the Sherman M-51 during the Six Day War ('67) and the Yom Kippur War ('73). It used a French F1 105mm gun and a modified T23 turret mounted on a M4A1 Sherman chassis. It performed quite well for an obsolete tank and was able to pen T54/55/T62s.
In real life in world war 2 this tank was the same as on the game with very thin armor easy to pin. The allied forces used these tanks to fight German panzer, tiger, and panther tank divisions. Every German tank I just named also has way thicker armor and a way bigger gun than this tank, yet this tank was beloved by allied forces and a huge reason we won the war.
This tank is definitely shit. I feel bad for people who spent $45 on an M4 that see's obj 704's. Tank will need a serious buff to even be considered worthwhile. 350 alpha minimum buff for this to make it relevant.

He was too aggressive and I was able to get side shots with my German HESH. I tried to tell him he shouldn't have gone alone and referred him to this video. Funnily enough he said " Bushka sucks. " RIP Bushka. He must hate Aussies.

Ok, I am an M4 FANATIC. I have every single version and camo that wg has ever put out for it and they have done an enormous diservice to the Super Sherman. If they are going to shaft it by giving it such slow reload time and the absolute worse armor ever in tier 8 med, they can at least give the damn thing superior pen with the alpha but no, that IS 6 was a freaking tomato, hell even the other french tank in the second game had a bunch of red on it from the front and on the turret. I refuse to pay for such a neutered tank even if it is an M4 variant. I have so looked forward to them releasing this tank only to be massively disappointed by how bad they have screwed this tank. The 105 that the French engineers placed on the super Sherman was designed specifically to be able to pen the IS3, that was the design parameters but wg couldn't even get that right here.

Edit: they're also buffing the stuer emil's amour (idk why cause it's still paper) oh and guess what, in typical war gaming fashion they're buffing the is1 and is2(1945) in they're accuracy (saw this coming from lights years away) and they are improving the terrain resistance on both of the black prince's tracks so hope for better track traverse. Edit 2:they're nerfing the reload on the t110e3 and the hitpoints by 100 like wtf wg

The whole idea behind lights and mediums and heavies and tank destroyers is to give the battle different dimensions but now you generally have everyone scrambling behind and around the heavies. This parasitic behavior nullifies any advantage that the lights and mediums bring to the game. Watch any good medium or light player and you'll see them spotting, flanking and racing around the battle helping flanks. Basically, light and medium tank players should have the most difficult roles to fill bc they are expected to be first responders when the shit hits the fan.
Dat: The faster and lighter tanks nullify any advantage they bring when they hide behind heavies. Good light/medium players can use their advantages to defeat the best heavy tanks. I know bc it happens when I face good light/medium enemies.
There are also cases where nothing can be done to flank. Mainly because the enemy team is also hiding behind their heavies so any chance you have to flank them gets removed because their meds will nuke you.
I think it would be much nicer if they’d give it 350 alpha (full 105mm alpha) and lower the rounds per minute so the dpm stays roughly the same That would make it stand out more from the "standard" t8 med and would make it a great peek a boo tank
1 year later, it’s 5k gold with 30 days premium plus an alpha buff. I don’t see the comparison to the Firefly though because that has no gun depression which significantly changes how you can play it.

Just got this tank today. Been wanting it for awhile but it hasn't been for sale and luckily I seen it up for sale today for 5000 gold witch is a de and a half for me lol. The armour definitely sucks, but if you are a good driver and can avoid getting in front of the guns of heavy tanks and tank destroyers that have big gun, then you'll be right bc I usually bully alotn of other mediums and light tanks with it except for like the super Pershing lol it's just to big for any medium tank to bully it 😂. I also bought the is3 defender bc it and the new mk1 defender and the t28 defender are for sale but the is3 and t28 but there are only 2 more premiums that i want right now and that is the smasher, and the obj 252u bc it's a beast of a Russian heavy tank and I have pretty much all the is tanks from Russia witch is very similar to the obj 252u.

But as soon as I seen this I didn’t like the idea of that hull in tier 8! It’s just not enough at tier 8! I used to have to fight tier 8 in my fury tank and it was rough! I couldn’t imagine what tier 9 are like in that hull! The gun on it is nice but so are a lot of tier 8 guns

This is an interesting tank. I can say that it’s a circumstantial tank, and you have to watch out for tanks like the T49, which will HE pen you from the front. I’m quite a passive player myself, and it suits me, but it’s very unforgiving. Aggressive play will usually get you killed. Hull is weak, turret is yeah nah maybe. The best thing is probably the alpha, with HE it’s a killer. Overall, a decent, actually BALANCED tank, and worth it if you like your tanks, and think you I’ll play it well. Don’t expect to do 4K every game :D
