E 50 M player here, not really the gun is the biggest limiting factor. Hull Armor can bounce Ho Ri Gold without noticing it but you need to learn how to angle the turret and predict turret shots to make it stronger than an STB-1.
@@HenAnt st is only good when hull down and nowhere else. Even in hull down you can hit its cupola. E50m gun is still fantastic altho not top tier and it's armor is fantastic in all situations. Also when it comes down to dueling with another med, E50m just wins 100% of the time against any med bc it can just get a bit of momentum and ram it for a third of it's full hp.
@@another_eu_player8035 as an E50M player with over 7k battles I can confirm that the STB-1's 3 degrees of extra gun depression, better agility and gun handling allows it to be a far more effective 2nd line vehicle, while the E50 M is great it's not to that level. Also, Sure Ramming is a great way to gain extra damage but it can lead you into some unwinnable situations, you just want to play the E 50M slow in a holding role for 80% of the game, you get more damage and bounces out of that and that's where the E50M beats other Meds near 95% of the time, half the proble of the E50M is nobody wants to brawl with you.
I think droodles is right, according to my own experiences, the leopard 1 armor is completely unreliable. However, the 30b at least has a bit of armor so I’ll probably go for the 30b instead of leo
Armor at the expense of dpm is a liability if your enemy can't shoot you. People in the matchmaker are idiots anyways. Them missing a shot is your cue to put in three shots before they've even reloaded. You cannot exploit people's weaknesses without superior dpm. And in a fight to the death, you'll always win.
Reasons people say the Leopard 1 is better: 1. It's tech tree, thereby 'free'. The AMX 30B costs at least 20k gold to get as a bundle. 2. The DPM. Its hella annoying. Also more alpha. 3. Mobility. Because it has no armor (more on that later), its light and therefore very quick. Actual reasons the 30B is better 1. Premium tank, it can make credits. 2. Troll af armor. The side is annoying to try and HE, Leopard is guaranteed pen. Mantlet and upper plate much better too 3. Gun is more reliable and easier to learn. It's one of the best gun for quick learning. What's the use of a gun that is mounted on paper? At least the 30B has little extra cardboard for protection.

Wr is the worst way to judge a player's skill. I have had over 60% wr for years but I was still a pretty bad player. You don't know if they only play a smasher or if they platoon more often there are a lot of ways to inflate win rate but very few to inflate xp or damage. @@DroodlesBlitz
I'll be honest if I'm gonna play a 30B I'd rather play a STB with godly penetration and more gun depression with armor you can always depend on hulldown, and if that's not what I'm looking for and I want a more mobile tank with more DPM then I'd rather play a Leopard, always. The 30B stays in this middle ground of of not actually being the best at anything and not being the best tank for the job of any specific role. So yeah a versatile tank, but not one that is the best at a niche.
The 30 B practically has better armor, practically identical gun characteristics and mobility, 1 degree more gun depression, all in exchange for 400 DPM, while not being too behind in armor profile to an STB-1 and can compete even against far more heavily armored contemporaries frontally, skill can't overcome the Leo's armor weaknesses when push comes to shove especially against similarly skilled players, 30 B can fight frontline and conserves HP better while remaining just as capable practically fulfilling the Leopards niche while also being better in every other scenario even against skilled players. You need to be a 2nd to 3rd line rat or start flanking to be truly effective in a Leo, even then every other medium in the game can do the same and can hold their ground better, the Leo is a tank where you farm Noobs for damage, even then it takes significantly more effort to win a game in a Leo than an AMX 30 B to achieve similar results, harder the better the enemy players are.
I agree with you Droods, the point people were trying to make was probably that leo and amx are hard to compare because amx has turret armor, unlike leo. Therefore the playstyle is a bit different.
Leo is a better driving and gun handling tank. It also has a superior DPM. The thing is the AMX has a tiny bit better armor but after the coming update armor won't exist anymore so the AMX will be losing what tiny advantage it has .

I would say Leo 1 has a higher potential, meaning if a skillful player plays it, it will do a better job than a 30b. I mean I see why Droodles brought statistics here, but to be fair Leo is a popular and yet hardest vehicle ever in the game. This means a lot of players who don’t know how to play it will play it which will drastically impact its statistics. On the other hand, 30b is way easier to play (more armor, faster acceleration, and more gun depression, etc.). I want to say it has a lower potential than Leo 1 because of its gun (still great though).
Even the top performing leopard1 player in NA server (According to 30days WN8) perform better in an STB1. I don't know how good you need to get this "Full potential"

The 30B beats the shit out of the Leopard! The Leopard is far too limiting, the armor is nonexistent. The gun is great for dpm and accuracy, but you shouldn't be snipe camping a medium and it lacks the armor to be a brawler with it's dpm, and it doesn't have the alpha necessary to be an ambush bonkpanzer like a Sheridan. The Leopard just feels lost in the current meta.
I don't like the Leopard that much to be honest. The Leopard gun might be better than any other meds, but the windows to abuse it are very hard find due to its non existant armor.Seriously the Leo gun is kinda overrated because of its dpm that seems way higher than most meds on paper, but in reality its like just 10 more alpha and somewhere between 0.5 to 1 sec longer reload than a AMX 30b or a M48 Patton. That damage difference is, in my opinion not worth not having a decent turret that can get you multiple bounces per games and way more opportunities to do damage.

droodles, the armor of the leo is troll, its not that there is none, it has some if you use your gun depression, i have 400 games in it and have blocked around 2k in it in several games. im 50 percent and my average wr in the leo is 57, with my average damage being 2.5k, this isnt trying to prove you wrong, i love both tanks, i just think that if you wiggle the turret a little bit, and use gun depression, you will bounce shots. its troll, trust me. please try this out, i think if you do it correctly, you can bounce shots. dont cook me for saying this, but i think this is what has made me a better player, poking in tanks with troll armor, you learn how to use armor effectively, like if you are in an Object 140, you can use the angled front to poke corners and get bounces.

I've always viewed the 30B as the tank you play if you like both the Leopard and the STB, it's got a little bit of both and allows you to play very smoothly while having that mobility. And armor combo at the sacrifice of the crazy DPM of the leopard.

If you ask me WG pushed 30b way too hard with the buffs because it's a premium. Also you are wrong about hatch hit. You all almost always from up or down aiming at the gun. Even if you hit the pocket in hatch you will hit the roof or bottom because of the angle. So that argument falls short. 30b is good as long as you don't find people that will abuse that hatch the hell out of you. I hit STB-1 hatch with not much problems. 30b is a walk in the park. Tank can't even poke before getting hit. 30b is good when you are not facing good players. Leo 1 is lacking a lot and needs so much skill to compensate for that. 30b is a disgrace of a tank. 30B with solid head is really better than a moving carton box for sure.
I don’t even care about the armor or aiming time all that much. The extra gun depression makes a huge difference on the 30b.

Literally every medium in tier X has better armor than the leopard 1, yet that doesn't make them better tanks, especially not the 30b which, despite having better aim time by a whole 0.09 seconds, has way worse DPM and accuracy, worse penetration, shell velocity, top speed, engine power, power to weight ratio (both theoretical and effective), general and turret traverse speed, camo, and view range.
Overall, the leopard 1 is what the 30b wants to be. Yet the truth remains, that it's extremely fucking mid.
And yet both Fatness and Droodles call it one of the best mediums in the game...so who's opinion matters more (:

Just because you do well in one tank, doesn't mean it's better than another or that it's anything other than mid. In fact, every time you even make a video calling a tank bad, you seem to do well in it. So what's your point? Because "average 4k therefore tank good" doesn't hold up when right before that you called yourself one of the best players in NA.

I've always viewed the 30B as the tank you play if you like both the Leopard and the STB, it's got a little bit of both and allows you to play very smoothly while having that mobility. And armor combo at the sacrifice of the crazy DPM of the leopard.

on offensive pushes and tracking, 1v1 all of those the leopard is better at. 30b has only holding capabilities and similar ones to stb which makes it boring so leopard is still better
If you ask me WG pushed 30b way too hard with the buffs because it's a premium. Also you are wrong about hatch hit. You all almost always from up or down aiming at the gun. Even if you hit the pocket in hatch you will hit the roof or bottom because of the angle. So that argument falls short. 30b is good as long as you don't find people that will abuse that hatch the hell out of you. I hit STB-1 hatch with not much problems. 30b is a walk in the park. Tank can't even poke before getting hit. 30b is good when you are not facing good players. Leo 1 is lacking a lot and needs so much skill to compensate for that. 30b is a disgrace of a tank. Pushed for being a premium and people constantly craying of it being weak. Allowing WG to push more premium bs in tier X. Good luck nerfing it if it breakes the game. This stupid community.
