My railing installer did not put enough anchor cement in the hole and my rail has rusted clean off. I took the railing off and welded a new section on. I am going to clean out the hole and reinstall the railing. I intend to precisely follow your instructions. I am a retired Wake County N.C. shop teacher and I hope I presented my lessons as clearly as you did. Thanks for the video. Take care
perfect. other questions i’d love to know about: how do you repair rusted metal like you showed? another is about epoxy. you mentioned it. what is it and why not always use that instead of anchor cement?
Thank you! Going to try and anchor a railing on my back porch but I don’t want to damage anything so I’m trying to figure out how to put up a freestanding handrail without taking up too much room on the steps
thanks for the vid Dirk! I usually install using Kwixset, Rockite's outdoor brother. Since that cement expands too, it requires a min edge distance of 4". Does the concrete youre using here have a minimum edge distance too?
ROCK-ITE is the best anchoring cement in my opinion. Most others like this product works, though you made a complete mess of the area you tried to fill. ROCK-ITE has a flour consistency and pours very smooth where other products pour heavy and very think which doesnt allow for a clean pour.

Cowboy why would you use anchor cement or epoxy grout? Can you talk about why one or the other?
What about pvc? Can I lock in pvc tubing?
Good video
