3:18 : If you notice, as the song transitions to a bit about Kanye's "beautiful death", his "so excited" turns into "suicide". Once you've heard it you can't unhear it.

    • @pjcr3nshxw

this was a very low point of Kanye’s life and thought about killing himself. A strong theory is that if mbdtf flopped, that he would kill himself. A point that supports this is obviously the line in the song, but also a leaked song that was made around the time that many thought was his audio suicide note. The song is called “never see me again” I highly recommend checking out the whole thing around it because it’s very interesting and really Erie that we may have lost one of the greatest of our generation

As someone who suffers from bipolar myself I can't help thinking that this song is a perfect representation of mania/hypomania.
Now, I don't want to downplay the societal issues brought up in this song or other interpretations of it. Rather point out another layer of this masterpiece.
As far as I know Ye wasn't aware of his diagnosis when he created Power, yet the accuracy with which he describes his state of mind is astonishing. Reckless driving, hypersexuality, feeling invincible, grandiose delusions, constant buss in your head, feeling overwhelmed, being talkative and argumentative... The signs are there.
If anything it's a testament to Ye's honesty and incredible ability to capture his emotions in a musical format.

Me and my semi blind cousin were playing it, i usually carry and was a bit irritated because we had it on hard difficulty, and we were swapping control by deaths beating campaign. And on that penthouse mission, i stood side by the helichooper door until the intro of the song came on and i jumped out on the first verse; dive bombing fast and straight into the penthouse swimming pool and cause all hell. was badass.

An artistic masterpiece of an album that tells a story about the beauty and dangers of fame and love presented in amazing ways with extremely realistic musical elements with pianos and orchestral sounds, and amazing usage of sampling small elements of some know/unknown 1960’s, 1970’s & early 1980’s old school songs to make something completely original. Also extraordinary mature subject matter used very well lyrically throughout the album. Whether you like Kanye or not this thing is thing is a masterpiece that won’t be forgotten.

    *LYRICS*
I'm living' in that 21st century
    Doing something mean to it
Do it better than anybody you ever seen do it
Screams from the haters, got a nice ring to it
I guess every superhero need his theme music
No one man should have all that power
The clock's ticking', I just count the hours
Stop tripping', I'm tripping' off the power
    (21st century schizoid man)
The system broken, the school's closed, the prisons open
We ain't got nothing' to lose, ma' fucka', we rolling
    Huh? Ma'fucka', we rollin'
With some light-skinned girls and some Kelly Rowlands
In this white man's world, we the ones chosen
So goodnight, cruel world, I see you in the mornin'
Huh? I'll see you in the mornin'
This is way too much, I need a moment
No one man should have all that power
The clock's tickin', I just count the hours
Stop trippin' I'm trippin' off the power
'Til then, fuck that, the world's ours
And then they say (hey) and then they say
And then they say (hey) and then they say
And then they say (hey) and then they say (21st century schizoid man)
Fuck SNL and the whole cast
Tell 'em Yeezy said they can kiss my whole ass
More specifically, they can kiss my asshole
I'm an asshole? You niggas got jokes
You short-minded niggas thoughts is Napoleon
My furs is Mongolian, my ice brought the goldies in
Now I embody every characteristic of the egotistic
He knows, he so, fuckin' gifted
I just needed time alone, with my own thoughts
Got treasures in my mind but couldn't open up my own vault
My childlike creativity, purity and honesty
Is honestly being crowded by these grown thoughts
Reality is catchin' up with me
Takin' my inner child, I'm fighting for custody
With these responsibilities that they entrusted me
As I look down at my diamond encrusted piece
Thinkin', no one man should have all that power
The clock's tickin', I just count the hours
Stop trippin', I'm trippin' off the powder
'Til then, fuck that, the world's ours
And then they say (hey) and then they say
And then they say (hey) and then they say
And then they say (hey) and then they say (21st century schizoid man)
    Colin Powells, Austin Powers
Lost in translation with a whole fuckin' nation
They say, I was the abomination of Obama's nation
Well that's a pretty bad way to start the conversation
At the end of day, goddammit I'm killin' this shit
I know damn well y'all feelin' this shit
I don't need your pussy, bitch I'm on my own dick
I ain't gotta power trip, who you goin' home with?
    How 'Ye doin? I'm survivin'
I was drinkin' earlier, now I'm drivin'
Where the bad bitches, huh? Where ya hidin'?
I got the power, make yo' life so exciting (so exciting)
Now this will be a beautiful death
    Jumping out the window
    Letting everything go
    Letting everything go
Now this will be a beautiful death
    Jumping out the window
    Letting everything go
    Letting everything go
Now this will be a beautiful death

Really contemplating this song is an interesting thing to do. There's so much thought and effort put into every part of it, into the music, the beats the samples and the references he makes included with his own deciphering and meanings of the words. It's an actual message with meaning and it's up to you to take an interperation from it. Rather you think it's just fun to listen to or has a deep meaning, it's all quite really made for all ears to enjoy and this would honestly be my favourite song of his for this reason.
Edit: Can't really say this about mumble rappers who's 'deepest thoughts' are "I'm sad and I drink lean all day, eehheehehehhhwahhhh" Call him cocky, but he really is a lyrical genius. There's actual meaning in his lyrics and energy in his voice.

A song like this, that is so amazing, clever, well produced, and not just that, but also legitimately powerful, makes the recent developments surrounding Kanye's current actions all the more disheartening. Kanye is a legitimately talented musician, but despite that I think it's safe to say that he's hit a new low and it makes me worry about the future of his music and his life as a whole.

Lol, my dude, I'm Jɛɯish, and I find this to be a retroactive self-dɨss track, because the ɢɑy Fish is hyping himself up, and yet included a sample of a voice other then his describing him accurately: "21st Century Sçħɨzoid Man".

Didn’t think I would hear King Crimson in a Kanye song lol.
Kanye is truly a man of culture!
