Well, "getting" just means you understand the motions and how it works. I'm damn sure Wren landed on his face a couple times at the beginning after he "got" how to do the curb climb.

jjWren has been and remains my favorite engineer jock since I saw him trying to take on random physical challenges back in the day. In this, he understands that successful coaching requires breaking one skill into separate parts, and then proficiency arises when all of those parts feel natural. Those parts are also directly associated with the move, instead of being some abstract 'drill' that's supposed to help. Beginning. Middle. End. A lot of coaches in different disciplines really don't know how that works. Fantastic coaching, Wren. Jake's conclusive understanding from steps until he starts finding the nuance in timing was cool. Now the journey from clearing a trick to polishing a trick enough to use it in regular commuting.

I'm glad you seem to be ok too!! Man that was an extremely miserable experience for me. It's like... the pain was VERY bad but I almost feel like the nausea was worse! I spent an entire week constantly feeling sea-sick like I was gonna throw up at any moment. That and the headaches. ughh
@@SirWrender Interesting, sounds like we had different experiences. I had the fortune of passing 2 stones in a short time frame. Just the slightest amount of spring so you can force down all your weight and pop back up to cause upward motion of the wheel, doing that while rolling into a curb would then also just ride up the curb.
awesome content! Yea that little 45 degree angle at the front and tail edge of your one wheel is your friend here. dig that nose into the sidewalk when you get to it so it raises the board above the curb. That helped me tremendously! Good video man! keep em coming!
