04:22 GMT Bristol Natural soundscapes and music are inherently healing, soothing our entire body down to a cellular, biochemical level, and bringing peace and a sense of embodied presence. We feel the ebb and flow of each evolving second as our beings oscillate between our inner and outer universes. It’s so so tricky to capture this sense of fulfilment and peace in words!! I am only just beginning to understand Buddhist philosophy and practice. What does seems clear to me is that the Cartesian mode of thinking ( “I think therefore I am “) relating to language, and rational logic ( physiologically located in the brain’s frontal cortex) and the unhelpful unhealthy mind /body dichotomy which ensues, constrains our souls and restricts the body’s power to heal itself. Our minds are not solely located in our heads . Our minds are embodied at a cellular biochemical level, in every neural pathway, in the biochemistry of respiration in every cell. Every sound, every breath, every touch, every step we take on our journeys towards enlightenment and joy is embodied in the present moment. Thanks and love to Simon McKibbin for introducing me to these ideas. and helping my heart to heal herself! X❤X😊
