In my 2008 lexus es 350 I had to press the learn button on the garage door unit and then get in my car and press the number 1 button 3 times(it says twice in the owners manual) and then my garage door started moving! Note: my car was running and parked in the garage with the garage door opened already.

these steps works fine but for me, I had additional steps after this. I had to press the learn button on my garage unit and press the same button that I've just pressed with the clicker following this video. Then it worked.
