I’m so excited for this new endeavor of yours!! It’s so easy to get lost in the details and then it becomes so overwhelming. I like the “bottom-up” teaching concept. Look forward to coloring this one!
Thank you for the well wishes! I'm excited to do more casual, low pressure coloring projects in the new Color Wonk group. And I hear ya about the details, I get excited about them too and if I'm not careful, they dominate everything else.
That's awesome to hear! I love that you're thinking through your processes. Even if you decide to keep something the same, at least it's a conscious decision and not just a coloring rut.
Absolutely! Shadows are similar, no matter what is casting the shadow. I used to teach shadows with markers but what I saw was students creating a mess of flick strokes that never really melted smooth and always had an outlined look. Shadows are easier and look more realistic with pencil.

Thanks for your videos, Amy. They’re so useful, it’s really challenged a lot of the things I’d been doing as a colorist.

I love seeing you doing dessert pictures 😊 Great work.
Thanks so much! 😊 The problem is, they make me hungry, LOL.
So great! Thank you!
Glad you liked it and thanks for watching!
This was awesome! I never thought to shadow the image with pencils. Would the same concept apply if you're coloring a leopard or giraffe??
