I love ebikes but i have future battery anxiety. Like what happens when Specialized stop making batteries for my ebike? I have to sell it at a huge loss or I have to know a battery repair guy who knows how to open up my battery and replace and solder new cells for me. I feel like an ebike is much less chance a bike for life as normal bikes could be. What about motor repairs out of warranty and even when parts become unavailable because your motor might have only been used in a few models and they stopped supporting it already.
No different to how car mechanics are gearing up to service e-cars, plumbers already service heat pumps, it’s just new tech. If there is a market opening up for e-bikes that need new batteries, someone will fill that gap.
@@nread1135 Yeh but there’s a lot more stuff that we don’t service and just goes to landfill. It isn’t always easy to find somebody locally who can repair certain items and ebikes will never be as mainstream as cars or boilers. Even when second hand cars get to become worth about £500 nobody bothers repairing them if the repairs are going to cost £300. Cheap ebikes will end up being scrapped unlike non ebikes which can viably be kept on the road forever.
I love the idea of it but I can't decide what would be my future dream e bike - at the moment I ride a Kona process 153 and have a haibike alltack7 e bike hardtail. I love the climbs on the eeb but the weight is a serious nightmare! more for the bike landing on me when I screw up! plus here in scotland the rocky trails tend to eat carbon bikes in my experience so i think for me a nice alloy lightweight hardcore hardtail would be the dream!
LOL, if traditional bikes were no longer being manufactured would be the one and only reason I would ever even touch an E-bike. There is literally less than nothing about a $10-12K bicycle that holds any interest for me. Especially not one that takes batteries.
Hey Tom. I can’t 360 a bike, but I sure can on skis. So, sometimes a heavy ski with a lot of metal in it feels soooo good to 360. Having the extra weight adds a fluid feel that you can’t get from a lightweight ski. Is it the same way with the eBike?
Great video! Until my knees give out due to age I'll use my own body's energy to pedal my a$$ around lol. Its not that I dont like ebikes, i just dont understand the use of them unless your physically unable to pedal yourself around.
I’ve said thers going to be an emtb graveyard of some of the brands , the sun, solar flares are active! Electrics / chips don’t like emp,s electro magnetic pulse.

Never use a pressure washer or compressed air . Use muck off and a gentle running hose to rinse off. You will blow contaminants into places, and it will act as a grinding paste. Also, water in electronics is a big no-no. Look at manual, please, before cleaning . It's a lazy way
Right. I'm a mechanical engineer with 40 years experience in food processing. The introduction of water blaster has increased plant failure by 30 fold to be kind seals keep lower pressure in.like a gearbox. You want to blast water in.lol
Here’s the reason they won’t, cost, my hard tail cost just over £6,000, the equivalent e-bike would be twice the price, plus I did 48 miles on my MTB yesterday as someone who has lived with a disability that makes it difficult to walk I find it hilarious that people feel the need to use electric motor bikes (that’s what they really are) I guess when you struggle to set up brakes properly then you need the extra power to get the bike moving 😂😂
That rotor sound
Have some great fun and safe travels Cardy!
Nothing better than a Cardy video drop with great bangers. Nac nac is looking good! Enjoy Costa Rica 🎉🎉
Thanks!

Greased the 360 air.💥💥
Nailed it!
That colour scheme reminds me of a Duracell battery 😂
Sick video as always Tom! What's the weight of Lyke with no battery? Good luck in Costa Rica!!💪🏻
Sick vid I really want one of these haibike lykes
Thanks man!

How do you travel with the battery? or do you have one there for you?

Legend!
Top tip.
Never use a jet wash on a bicycle.
True story.
Cow bell? Good luck at jam/ contest
how you flying with the battery?
No. I will not. 🤷♂️
MAYBE when I'm old and feeble. Until then, I'm happy to use my perfectly functional legs.

Love my eeb but its just not a DH bike going flat out!
If my conservator would let me buy one I would.. yea yea I’m 52 and still on it… lol
Epic!
Nice 360's Tom.

@Te_le_Gram-Me-TomCardy1 cool
perfect example on how not to clean your ebike and why.
800 miles on my eeb and I wash mine every time more brutal than he does and she’s still going strong 💪🏽 it’s not a watch ⌚️ 😂

Electronics and water will be your nightmare . Good luck with that one. Run a low pressure hose....it means don't spray it .

Is it because all bikes look the same now? And people can't tell they're buying an ebike?
an e bike , yes but a cheap chinese model from Java can fit most of us better than some expensive brand
I wonder what you will find in Costa Rica to throw at Kara?
Haha! Alligator I think!
Another e-bike advertisement? Are you sponsored by them? Get your $$$ until these bike companies go under…
The real reason everyone will ride an IGH bike in the future
The real reason everyone will ride a belt driven bike in the future

Adjusting ya brake isn't that hard buddy lol

Yo!!! Costa Rica?! Very nice.
Yea on the plane now with WiFi!😂🤟
