How to take a bath in Japan - Onsen/Sentou edition!

- Hey guys! Taking a bath in Japan is a bit different than in the west. Here is a brief rundown on some of the basics! bathing culture/rituals are important in Japan, and can differ slightly between regions. That being said, this video should provide you with the minimum in regard to etiquette that you will need to enjoy what Japan has to offer.

Ok so...101,000 views...wild! I had no idea this would garner as much attention as it has and I suppose I should probably start making some videos again. I'll try to find the time to make a few more educational videos on things/places I enjoy in Japan. it is rainy season (Tsuyu) at the moment in Japan, but in a few weeks it should clear up and I should be able to get out and about and recording. Thanks for the thorough explanation. I wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to wash private areas in front of everybody. Although, I’m still not sure how to go about that while on a stool.
Have experienced this. It's quite weird and very difficult for a tall person to get down to the level to sit on the baby stool. Your 'wedding vegetables' terminology broke me up!

so basically, the bath tub is really just to relax like it were a jacuzzi pool and the shower and bucket is really where you clean and rinse yourself and the stool is just an added extra thing for you to sit at i guess...

But it's just a quick shower before the bath right? otherwise, how can you properly shower everywhere while sitting down?
I was quite surprised about the hair thing. I wasn't aware of that and I've only really been to 1 sentou which is in a hotel (i did go at least 5 times during my stay tho). I always saw some Japanese people touching their hair and while no one is dunking their whole head into the water, quite a few tend to go as low as possible from time to time so I didn't see it as something not to do.
Anyway, at the risk of sounding like a creep, do you perhaps have some socials? I have been living in Japan for a few years now and would like to connect with some people.
