I have this laptop and I use a 1440p external monitor and the performance with DLSS On is great. The FPS on Control at 1440p with Maximun settings and Ray Tracing at maximum possible with DLSS in Quality is above 60 FPS, great deal for a RTX 3060 at 105 W
Hi, great video, I got the same PC and I was wondering how and why did your CPU kept hitting around 70 degrees under load most of the time. I'd like to know if you set a limit for the power consumption, so the FPS could may be higher on an higher power plan, or if you have some really helpful tricks to help a plenty of us to do so at the maximum performance. Have a nice one and Many thanks
Hello! How does everyone like their Gigabyte G5’s?? How is the cooling/heat of the laptop while gaming? Any issues that someone considering one should know about? I just bought one, but I am still watching the deals and researching just in case. This one is looking pretty good though….I just want to make sure. Thanks in advance!
@@gyzen7391 yeah…. I guess that costs some FPS…. But it’s still out performing similar prices machines! I ended up choosing this. I hope my kids are happy with it. Thanks for your feedback!
@Mike Sutton Overall i think it's a good laptop for the price/performance you get, something you have to keep in mind is that the fan noise are louder while playing in performance mode, for the heat issue alot of people are complaining about the cpu overheat but for my unit it's not the case the temperature while playing are ok, mybe it depend on the unit or the model you get. Optimus cant be disabled unless yiu use an external monitor. But it's a decent laptop with a good screen and the 3060 with the 105W does a really good job.
@@LOWFPSGamingBenchmark Thank you for the reply! I have moved forward with the purchase but I’ve been having a hard time. It seems that when a person buys this laptop, the will either get the Windows Home OS 20H2 or the Version 21H1. Apparently the 21H1 is newer. I have one 20H2 and it’s a keeper, with a nice bright screen, but I have received 2 21H1 versions and both of them had a significantly dimmer screen. Still looked nice, but about 20% dimmer. It seems like they have changed the panel on the most recent G5’s. I am working to find a second 20H2 because I want full brightness. By the way there is absolutely no marketing indicating the difference when you buy, but it is indicated on the label in the box when you get it. It says 20H2 if it’s that version, and just AD if it is the 21H1. I only have one option left to actually improve the brightness of the dimmer…. I want to look in the bios and possibly try an update. Kind of a last shot.
How can you keep this machine so cool (compared to mine)? I changed the thermal paste to Gelid GC Extreme, undervolted the CPU, but when playing RDR2, the CPU almost reached 100 degree and the GPU throttle at 86-88 degree (cannot reach 105 W, only around 90s).
@AvgGuy I did nothing special for the laptop, just tilting the back for better airflow. The laptop cooling system is doing quite well no need for a cooling pad.
I just got the i5 11th gen version with the rtx 3060 and I have to say i am very disappointed with it. I hate the fact that I am limited to 3 options in the nvidia control panel with zero options to control DLSS or Raytracing. I also hate that I have to assign the 3060 gpu on a per app basis or this laptop will only ever use the intel HD gpu. Even when I have assigned the rtx3060 to a game like Valheim for instance the performance is simply terrible. I am honestly considering returning this laptop.
Hello friend, good video, but I have a question, I have an msi gf65 thin 10ue gaming laptop with a rtx 3060 75w, when activating ray tracing in games like control or doom eternal, I notice a horrible c.clock drop of 4.193 mhz at 2.4 mhz, in certain areas of the game, but it only happens when ray tracing is activated, do you know why it happens?, Is it normal?
Hello my friend. I believe i do have an answer to your question. When you turn on RT, it uses the gpu intensively, and in order to supply more power to the gpu, power is drawn from the cpu, this is the nvidia dynamic boost 2.0. Now my question, I am willing to get the laptops you have msi gf65 thin (i7 10750h) with rtx 3060 75w, 16gb ram. Can you tell me about your experience? Is the gaming performance good? Are you able to play AAA games on ultra. I was planning to buy the nitro 5 with ryzen 5 5600h with rtx3060 95w, but this laptop is too costly. I wonder is the msi gf65 performs as good as the nitro in games ONLY. As the rtx on msi is weak and it is a thin laptop, is there any thermal throttle or fps drop issues?
@@aakashkapoor8933 Hello friend, I understand, thanks for the answer, sorry for taking so long to reply, youtube did not notify me, answering your question, my msi gf65 thin 10ue laptop turned out very good, I have compared many other benchmarks 3060 95w, 105w and 115w and I only notice between 5 to 10 fps less with my 3060 75w gpu with an i5 10500h, my laptop cost me approximately 1200 dollars with shipping to mexico, but I bought it a long time ago, the truth is I don't know if I increased the price or decreased , the only negative detail, is the quality of the screen that is basic in colors, contrasts, etc, and the chassis that is made of plastic, imitating brushed aluminum, but even so it is a good important laptop (for games), the temperatures It's 75-85 degrees maximum cpu and 70-75 degrees maximum gpu with cooler boost with more than 3 hours playing and playing games like doom eternal (ultra 144 fps without rtx and dlss), apex legends (very high-ultra 130 -144fps) , fortnite (high 120fps scaled 100%), destiny 2 (very high 110-13 0fp s), god of war (high-ultra 60-70fps) and forza 4 (high 144fps) but the fan levels can be adjusted, hope it works for you, regards.

I have to agree its a great buy, playing battlefield 2042 on ultra, getting around 60fps on avg with RT and dlss off. But I just have one concern, the laptop does not use the enitre 75w at times. For e.g- when I launch any game the msi afterburner shows only 50w being used by the gpu resulting in lower fps. Im getting around 38-42 fps on the lowest setting with dlss on performance. to compound that, changing the ingame setting makes NO difference on performance.
