It's funny that McCarthy said today that he thinks it was a bad rule to let one person call to vacate the speakership. Exactly everyone was saying that he sealed his fate with that one concession. If you were gonna allow one person to bring a vote to remove you then you might as well not run . In most negotiations there are usually deal breakers in Kevin's case there were no deal breakers he gave up everything except for the hair on his head .

One of McCarthy’s most glaring flaws in my mind was that he did not want bipartisanship and considered the Democratic party as the Enemy-except when he desperately needed their help. It was entirely in line with his practices that he would bash them afterwards. I hate the divisiveness in U.S. Politics today, that only deprives the American people of good governance.
His character preceded his presence.

Unfortunately in a position like that you have to try and please everyone and if you do try that, you will please no one. It's better to just be blunt and tell people you don't like that you don't like them or their way of thinking and vice versa. I think the American people that lean to either side would appreciate that in a politician more than anything else.
You don't have to please everyone. You only have to please the majority. McCarthy could have ignored the fringe Republicans if he'd kept *most* of both parties happy. Instead he conducted a scorched Earth campaign against the Democrats, doing ridiculous things like starting an impeachment "investigation" against Biden for the High Crime of being a Democrat.
The only time he did anything remotely bipartisan was in the recent Continuing Resolution vote. That doesn't make up for what he'd been doing the rest of his term. He knew he needed Democratic votes to keep his job, and instead he sneered at them.
