    As a Michigan Tech grad, my buddy and I would take our bikes to the very end of US41 and ride to the very tip of the peninsula. I was a great ride with great views.

    What a delightful town. In today's world it's best to get as far away from the crazies as you can. This is the spot to go!

      ? Lived there for a year! Beautiful awesome country..but you will not escape the crazies there... people there are mean spirited & can be quite vile & vicious if u hang around to long! You have been warned....

    The next time you get to Copper Harbor go up to Brockway Mountain. You can get a overlook view of the town and at the top you can get great views of Lake Superior and the little valleys around there. I flew my drone their last week when I visited and will post video when I get the chance.

      I did do the Brockway mountain drive. Not sure if it was this trip or the trip a year before or after. lol But you are right it is a stunning location! :) all the best

    It is a beautiful place. If there are so few people who stay up there in the winter, do all the businesses close down?

    • @WanderDano
      @WanderDano 8 лет назад +2

      it really is.. don't quote me on those numbers but think I am pretty close if my memory serves me. lol I think some close but there is also more winter trips up there and many "normal" people would think. lmao

    I wonder how much trouble it is for fed-x and ups in areas like that in the winter

    • @WanderDano
      @WanderDano 8 лет назад +1

      This might be the type of area where they actually turn it over to the post office for delivery. There are actually many places that fed ex and UPS don't take it all the the way to the end destination... but the post office ALWAYS does.

    You can see copper harbour from the Canadian side sometimes also?

    • @WanderDano
      @WanderDano 4 года назад +1

      Thunder bay is about 90 miles from Copper Harbor - so that is further than people can see. Now, Isle Royale is actually MUCH closer to Canada than it is to Michigan. The summer after this video I took a boat there but from Grand Portage Minnesota. Michigan got the Upper Peninsula and Isle Royale when the US Gov settled a near war between Ohio and Michigan.

    The brown signs always get me... The brown signs are the biggest time trap.

    • @WanderDano
      @WanderDano 8 лет назад +1

      not sure I follow... I think many state park signs are brown.

    • @fvm2116
      @fvm2116 8 лет назад +2

      Exactly brown signs are usually a point of interest...state parks ,public access sites , assorted attractions, campgrounds I often just turn off direction a brown sign points sometimes its something great other times not so much but I have found some good places by just following brown signs I have also wasted a fair bit of time. You drove past some brown signs unless I know the place I have a hard time driving past a brown sign

    • @WanderDano
      @WanderDano 8 лет назад +2

      very true. I used to tease my ex wife all the time with "historical marker" signs. Every time I'd see one I was like I'm going to stop - turn on the signal and everything -- she'd get all mad. lol
