Great video Roger. I’ll never forget the opportunity you gave me to have a go on that incredible machine.

Thank you Roger, was very interesting to watch. Its great that you still have all the project samples from the 80's too, I spotted a few samples in the PSB list that I could almost hear just from the names. Did I spot a few Eighth Wonder samples (written by psb I believe?)

Synclavier also went up to 50kh and variable sample rate

Indeed. The Fairlight Series III, back in 1985, could do 100K 16-bit in Mono and then in 1986 50K in Stereo. Just saying :-)

@@rogerboltoncomposer I had 2 series 1. My fav sampler was Synclavier II, but I've sold that to THE WHO so it still a working horse.

I've played music professionally for over 50 years around America and have YET to see my first Fairlight in use. Seems like a fantastic tool, but have ANY Americans bought one in the history of the company?

Yes, many... Pretty sure that Stevie Wonder was one of the first people to own one

@@simonsteamyhead5738 I'm quite aware lol... I became infatuated with the Fairlight after hearing it almost exclusively on Devo's album 'Shout' (1984)

Herbie Hancock demonstrated his Fairlight CMI on Sesame Street back in the early '80s.

Hello Roger, Do you have any spare boards or parts for the CMI Series III?

Wait-this can’t be a fairlight-the monitor is flat screen. Are you using Qasar beach?

Hi! It is an original Series III with an HD video card designed by Peter Weilk ;-)
