I spent many hours infront of the screen playing this game which turned me into a strategy addict.

Great game. One of my favs back when...my Amiga 500 had to run it days on ends. Stacked armies doing massive attacks or defences. It was actually quite fun.

I liked the large size of the map, not many strategy games from that time had such large maps to conquer

It takes place on ye olde England. That makes it the greatest game ever! 🥰
You need to beat every game that has England for it's map. I heard an olde legend that if you take over England in every game, you'll become the new real king of England.

Warlords was the best game back then

Thanks for covering these! Yes, 'Lords of the Realm' was probably a better designed game, but this was more like the cutting edge in map complexity and size at the time, at least for the 'Medieval Conquest' genre. If you can call it that. Could have sworn there were some archery contest in there, but since it has been so many years since actually playing it, it is hard to be sure anymore. It was a good trip down the memory lane, nonetheless! 😀

Yes the map is huge for the time! The archery contest was in the first game Kingdoms of England (:
