I am a drummer but this sound is what I remember from the eighties when you were playing in various bands in cellars, schools ect.. it kind of pulling my heart strings... :)
Thanks for another great demo Henning! So, would you like more low end on this one? We are tweaking in the pedals at the moment for a new FW update, so put in your order please. /Michael
Haha… maybe a bit… compared to the real thing II is a bit leaner. The 800 has a very pronounced low end without being dark or mushy. However, the Jims 800 works great in a track.
Man, I love EytschPi42's content. I return to these videos multiple times, depending on what I want to see, whether honest takes on products or a comprehensive look at the gear in use. It feels almost like a podcast spliced with a sick gear demo. Outstanding.
We never know how those things will react to our own rigs,While I like TC ,If Marshall came out with this and stood behind it I would really wanna try it,some of us that have been in the game a while have all kinds of pedals we have bought looking for that special tone we agree with and at some point you just stop . It has to be something really good and special to catch my attention. I have 3 Marshall Heads and an Orange head, Line 6 Hx stomp xl, a hundred pedals, preamps etc etc,. and still here I am Loving these demos. LOL .
Exactly. If you have the opportunity, try before you buy. The most guitars, amps and pedals that I've bought, I've bought without trying them. Most stuff was used, so I didn't lose too much money ok that stuff. But I've backed out of buying things after trying them. This pedal could be great, but it could also happen that it doesn't work very well with the rest of our pedals. But it's digital, so it should be fine, it should be consistent.
Yep…this things sounds pretty nice. I am running it fairly clean with the Blackstar Dept 10 Drive and Boost before it and that setup gives me a huge range of great tones!
Henning, du bist der geilste, durchgeknallteste Gitarrero (Musiker, Produzent, Comedian etc..... 🤣) ever ✌🤘👍👍👍 I love you 🥰😄 Beste Grüße aussem Pott to wherever you are. Rosigatton
I spy a Walrus 385 at the 2m35s mark. Looks to me like Rafa is using it in the effects loop of his vocal preamp. That's a wild idea. Such a versatile pedal.
Now I want to do this Jim s800 and the 505 I don't know why I can get the same sounds out of my amps but I guess I can use him for lower volumes and not having the neighbors give me that funny look
Totally off the subject, but please, all of you take time to slow down & recover, so that you can enjoy Gear Street. I'm hoping it for you because I am utterly burned out myself & I don't want what's happening to me, to happen to you.
I completely understand what your saying. After a playing in a few bands bar bands, recording for over 35 years there's really nothing I haven't heard. I feel like everything has been done to death. People like Guthrie Goven, Tim Hanson make me want to give up lol.
@@protoolsfanatic7276I know what you're saying. Virtuosos are untouchable for the most of us. If I just had a teacher when I was younger that could tell me to be me, I would develop much faster. Now I'm always trying to be better, but I also like what I play. Oh, and I definitely don't wish to play like Henson. I'm not the least bit a fan of the music, it doesn't rock my boat.
Hello! Your videos are awesome! I'm interested in your opinion, which is better: tc electronic jims 800 or joyo jackman ii or vox Copperhead overdrive?
Damn, I wish someone would send me one of these to try out! I really like the idea of these but not 100% sure how they work in reality! Are they a "pedal amp" or just a modelling pedal that you stick in front of an amp? Can I just take one of these to a gig and let the sound engineer sort out the sound front of house? I just dont know.... Come on Henning, how about doing the FIRST "How to..." with these pedals?
It's a preamp pedal so you'd plug your guitar into the pedal, take the output of the pedal into the FX-Return of an amp so you're just using the power amp section, and plug the amp into a cab as usual. Or you can take the DI output of the pedal which has a cab sim and send that direct to FOH and let the engineer do what they want with it. Or you can do both so you have your amp on stage making noise and the engineer can also pump your DI signal through the PA without having to mic your amp. In a home studio sense you can either go from the output of the pedal into your interface and use your own cab IRs, or you can take the DI output and use the included cab sim.
Wonderful times. Growing up in the 80s, I was used recording with a 4-track, no idea how to mic my amp. Later I thought I got "the" sound when the Red Box (MkII!) from Hughes & Kettner was available. Still got mine. As it states in the manual: "The cabinetulator circuitry of the RED BOX authentically recreates the sound of a miked-up guitar cabinet loaded with four 12” loudspeakers." Ah, little did we know.
Not a bad sounding pedal but most seasoned guitar players probably already have a Marshall. A lot of mid-range. Sounds pretty good I guess The dual wreck was a lot different. The hats are no good for guitar pedal demos. Now for fishing they'd be perfect😊. Thanks again have a good day...

See when you were playing the 505 this pedal sounds more muddy 505 sounded really clear whether it was playing rhythm and lead simultaneously this sounds more mufully but maybe your ears or more into a lower tone more Bassy I don't know but maybe combining these two together and dialing and him might be pretty cool
And of course you're playing a totally different guitar than the Headless one with more aggressive pickups I presume then this Les Paul replica of some sort I can't tell what it is
That happens ALL the time in comparisons. Potentiometers vary, so it’s best to use your ears for levels and adjust to get them close. That’s the only way to compare accurately.

well, that was very convincing, especially in the track. but the comparison to the real amp, to me, the pedal sounded ordinary. the real amp sounded way better.

Difference in how the (virtual) cabs are mic'd I guess. The gain structure and such sound very similar. Makes me think there is a bass-cut / eq / mic difference somewhere in the IR of this pedal. Things will never be 100% the same, but yes, there was quite a bit of low-end missing in the compare. But that can be because of many reasons that have nothing to do with the emulation in the pedal... or it has.. we will never know :).
