What a fabulously done video. Absolutely amazing energy from the music and marvelously edited sequences between the band and the dancers. Thanks for keeping this up.
The dance is Heartbeat, composed by Don Flaherty. Duple improper A1 (8) Balance the ring, Petronella spin to the right (8) Repeat A2 (16) Balance the ring; Neighbor swing B1 (8) Women gypsy right 1.5 (8) Partner swing B2 (8) Circle left 3/4 (8) Balance the ring, California twirl
That was a square dance. Usually there is a caller, calling the moves, but these are obviously experienced square dancers, and wonderful. I wish I could still dance. Sandy
Close; it's a contra dance. The moves are similar to square dance (both styles share common roots) but they are done in a line and the caller usually only has to prompt the dancers for the first few repetitions. :-) NHCALLER in an earlier comment even identified the exact dance for us.
Respectfully I think you got to cut happy, which I understand. I don't think there is a bad shot in the whole video so there was temptation to show a lot of different things.More time spent on each shot with fewer cuts would be more enjoyable. Loved the above shots. One never gets to see that perspective. Particularly good with Petronella turns.

"Awesome" is the only word I can come up with to describe this set, and the band playing it.
All I want to do is contra dance to the Great Bear Trio for the rest of my life. Seriously

(In spite of heavy editing, this dance sequence is the very popular "Heartbeat Contra" by Don Flaherty.)
