I understood the video as mental illness. Some people become consumed in their relationships that it drives them to the brink of insanity. The house represents her mind and how truly insane someone can feel with toxic relationships. When she's outside, it represents who she seems to be or what people perceive her to be and then when she goes inside, that's when she truly allows her darkest feelings to come out. I don't know, that's what I picked up. She's extremely creative, I don't think the video was supposed to be taken literally.

For me personally I think it dives down on the idea about bad romance. At the start of the video, the car crash represents the relationship going wrong, and at the other side is how usually people in a relationship "fix" it (notice the water sprinkler is too far from the smoke which is a pointless "fix"). When she gets home, everything seems very familiar to her. It seems like at home she's the one that's being abused in the relatinship, and now that the partner is gone, she's trying everything out on her own because she loved the feeling. The rain inside the house might have represented her crying and grief in the thought that she will not experience him again. And at the end of the video, she just became this cold-hearted angel. I'm not a native English speaker but I hope you get what I mean. :)

I'm obsessed with this video and I personally think it's talking about sexual abuse. The whole video shows her exploring and experimenting on her body (the soap, the eyelash curler, the lipstick, even looking at her hand in the sun) and trying to figure out what makes her love, her body, a "fetish." The lines in the song seem to infer that there's something wrong about the love she's talking about, and Gucci's rap in particular where he's blaming her and accusing her of acting hard when he knows she's soft is pretty strongly indicative of that idea. Also the way she acts in the music video: distraught, chaotic, unstable, with an almost childlike innocence one second and a jaded sexuality the next, as though she doesn't know what role she's supposed to be playing.
Just my thoughts. Either way it's a magnificent video.

Also, I saw the whole putting things in her mouth like the eyelash curler, almost symbolic of not being able to discuss a dysfunctional or abusive relationship, almost as if she is gagged or a cat got her tongue. in my pov, selena misses the feeling of being in love. while trying to move on with her everyday life, she struggles to stay focused as her mind keeps recalling the past. the broken car and the garden hose signifies her current emotional state as she feels overwhelmed and needs a fix. the sun and the peaches reflect the early stage of a relationship as in the beginning, everything is always bright, beautiful, sweet and nothing is compared to it. she stares at the sun and recalls all those moments in her head. later on she goes inside and tries to taste different things by herself in hopes that they feel as good as the peach (the feeling of her past relationship) but soon realizes that nothing feels as good in comparison. the need to be touched overpowers her and she starts losing her mind. she dresses up and sets the table with candles and drinks in order to re-experience the feeling of dating someone as this urge is driving her crazy and she's looking to be loved again but the reality (i.e. the rain) hits her, reminding her of the harsh truth that she is still alone. later on, she tries to hold her tongue in order to resist her urges. but she finds her head going back into the past and as her thoughts get deeper she realizes how her perfect relationship with that person turned cold and she still struggles to find love in that place but she fails. the heart at the end signifies a love that has turned cold.
